The faint sound of things moving made Renee dart her eyes across the room only to see objects twitching unnaturally without being touched or disturbed. She looked back at Quentin, sure that something was about to break or burst into little pieces...hopefully a little thing and not everything in the room. She could tell her little brother was looking a little too aggravated with this bird.
What the bird said, though, made no sense to her. "Wait, you did what?" Clearly, Quentin didn't want to hear it. Or maybe he didn't want her to hear it. Now, however, Renee wanted more than anything for the bird to go on. Although even if it didn't, random bits of Quentin's thoughts were getting into Renee's mind unsolicited and she was now sure she was knowing more than he wanted her to.
"I think there's some things you need to tell me about later." She told him, careful not to let her emotions get away from her. It was better to focus on the problem at hand now. "So, what, you're a water elemental now too?" Renee didn't know much about supernatural powers, but she knew enough to associate water letting you do anything with powers over water itself. Plus, just as Quentin had said, familiars didn't appear to anyone but elementals and witches, and what the seagull said did not sound like it pertained to a witch at all.
