'Dodging the cafeteria'. Oh. Oh. Locke was pretty sure his face briefly flashed to an expression he wasn't proud of at the idea of what Darklis must have had for lunch. It wasn't like she had a neck or something to chomp down on in her lunchbox. It was probably some sort of a chilled blood bag or something like that. Locke didn't want to think too much about it. He was just glad that he didn't see any traces of blood on her face. It would've made it impossible for him to stay and talk to her even if she was a friend of Cole's. Cole could make mistakes. He's dating Bunny. Oh that's mean. I shouldn't think that. "We've all been new to school once." Or multiple times. To high school alone. Locke wanted to grin and maybe even laugh quietly at how Darklis was describing were's to be annoying. She really sounded just like everyone else. She just happened to have fangs and live off of the blood of the living. Is it actually right to judge her because she's a vampire? She's not one of the ones who killed Jan and Locke. "You just have to find one about your size. I think I know one." Was Bunny around the right size?
Now see, when Darklis went and said that, Locke couldn't help but feel bad. He didn't like hurting other people's feelings and that was pretty much all that what he'd said could've done. "I didn't mean you specifically, just people in general at this exact moment." He'd wanted to be alone. He'd definitely wanted to be alone without meeting the school's resident vampire, but since that wasn't happening he should try to make the best of it. Hurting someone's feelings, whether they were undead or not, just wasn't acceptable. No one that he'd ever cared about could've approved of that and neither did he. "Angelic?" Vampires could be angelic, of course they could be. If Darklis was angelic then she couldn't possibly be like those vampires who'd killed in cold blood. Dead or not he couldn't imagine someone who had ties in with an angel doing that. It was amazing how much better he felt just at hearing that one word. That and she'd sort of perked up at the mention of Cole. Anyone who liked Cole couldn't be that bad. Locke grinned faintly at the mention of Cole's confession. "Yeah, he told me he got himself banned from the confessions booth. Sounds totally like Cole. And Lambykins does that on purpose, I'm pretty sure." He'd been around the Landers house enough to be introduced to Isolde's familiar and nothing could really be that adorable. Not naturally. Locke shook his head and reached up to run his hand down his face, grinning widely. "You gave Cole access to a new closet, he must've been in heaven. Wish I could've seen his face when he was going through it. He does this--" And that was where Locke realized that he had to stop talking before he started singing praises. He was just glad Darklis couldn't read his mind or feel the little flutter that had started up in his stomach. "I'm, uh, I mean I'm glad that you guys get along. He's pretty cool." Once again Locke rotated his arm, shoulder a little more sore than he'd thought it would be.
