Damn. Half formed now. She was going to have to move since the beast was going for the other apparent hunter instead of in the direction of the bolt. She would not be responsible for someone else's death. Not again.
Shanti was up and over the rocks in a flying leap. Anyone else might have had a war cry but she was stealthy and silent... And managed to get one of the khepesh blades hooked into the beast's back. If a wolf could scream, that was the sound it made - far more horrible than the pain of the bullet or the bolt. Almost 13 inches of sharp, curved silver (the full blade was 20 inches) would do that to a were.
Only now she was slightly hooked because she was not going to lose her blade, thank you very much. It reared back enough to slam her bodily into a tree and her head smacked against a branch. The werewolf shot forward again and the blade slipped out like butter. It decided that two humans with silver was not worth sticking around for and shot off into the darkness as fast as its legs could carry it.
Shanti got up from the ground, coughing slightly as she got her wind back. She had a headache and her tracking was just screwed up now. No finding that wolf again for awhile... She still had it's blood on her blade. She could get it later.
