He chuckled a little, his hand rubbing at her back. "I won't lie, I could totally fall asleep right now," he said as he kissed the top of her head. Being with Freddie made him so comfortable and so relaxed. Moreso than he had ever been before. So it was natural for sleep to creep up on him like it was currently doing. "I don't think there's a tense muscle in my body right now." Even being in Freddie's tiny car didn't upset his comfort. After taking a deep breath, he looked up at the sky at that moment and took in the blanket of stars above them. Perfect. Uh oh. His eyes totally closed and he didn't think that he could open them again. Not when they felt like they weighed a million pounds. Lanky arms tightened protectively around Freddie as he appreciated the feel of her against him.
She brushed her nose lightly over his skin with a smile. "Then sleep. I don't think I can stay awake for much longer either." And that felt wonderful, especially considering what had happened earlier. That kind of thing usually made her too nervous and angry to sleep, but not tonight. Not with Rhys' arms tightly around her, his warmth telling her tonight she wasn't alone. Freddie was still watching him when his eyes closed, and he looked so sweet. It sent a warmth through her body unlike anything she had ever felt. Snuggling up to him, she closed her eyes as well. I'm so in love with you., she thought, and though it still felt kind of weird because it was totally new, Freddie knew better than to be scared.
"Mmkay," he said as he smiled. He was so happy that she was with him right then. It felt like a dream. The past couple of days were mind-blowing to him. He spent all of that time pining for her and now she was his. The last thing he heard before he drifted off into sleep was the sound of her thoughts. And I you, Freddie, he thought as sleep claimed him.
"Sleep tight." She said in a tiny voice as she snuggled up to him one last time before allowing herself to fall asleep. And Freddie did so almost instantly, tired from all the crying, and feeling the most protected she had in a long while. "I love you." It always bore repeating. Always. Even if Rhys was sleeping and his subconscious would somehow pick up on it instead. Maybe he'd have sweet dreams over it. Maybe she would too.
