It felt like forever since Fable had actually gone to work, between the demon attack and Ziggy's arrival and everything that had happened in the last few weeks. Mary Anne had fussed over her, of course, like any pack mother would do, wanting to be sure she was ready before she took on too much. Fable just needed to be busy again, and since Ziggy was starting his first day as the new art teacher, it wouldn't do her any good to sit around the house and be sad. At least at the daycare, she felt like she was doing something, being productive in a way that she could actually feel. This, as well as working in her garden, helped her keep her mind off - well, everything.
She was setting up a group of 5-year-olds with all the materials to make construction paper masks when she heard the door open, looking up automatically. The last thing Fable expected to see was a very pregnant woman standing there, but that didn't stop the smile that spread across her face. Getting up, she rested one hand on her hip and the tiny baby monitor she'd tucked into her pocket. Ainsley was upstairs napping, and Fable was hoping she'd get another half an hour or so before she'd have the baby to entertain as well as the kids.
"Hello," she said, giving the woman a wave. "What can I help you with?"
