"Afternoon," he said, a bit of his southern drawl coming back out, and he refused to be ashamed of it. "I'm Jonas LaSalle, I'll be joining up with this here crew next week, and I was figuring I'd check out the place a bit before my first day. I apologize for dropping in unannounced, but the chief had said he should be in today if I needed anything." That wasn't a lie, either, though he was still getting used to using the name LaSalle. The more Jonas said it, the more he liked it.
