It didn't help that shortly after she'd returned to Scarlet Oak, she had to postpone her return to work due to demon attack. Lucky trotted at her side as she slowly made her way into the station. She'd talked to the chief and with her headache mostly gone, she was going to man the desk. Frustrating but it was something she could do that got her out of the house. Adam had been with her and she appreciated that, but she told him that Sundays weren't really all that bad and that she would have Lucky with her this time. Her familiar hadn't left her side since she'd come home that day and she didn't have the heart to turn him away. Nor did she really want him away from her at this point.
So that's how she came to be sitting at the desk, teasing the guys as they were going out to rescue a cat from a tree. Lucky seemed to be in a better mood and even the blonde was smiling as they drove off. A man was walking up in a trench coat, someone she'd never seen before. Lucky lifted his head but sensed no danger. As a matter of fact, he sensed nothing bad about this man at all. He was different, likely like Telyn.
"Can I help you?" the blonde asked as she stood slowly, body still weary from her week.
