Weekends were generally pretty busy for Tanith, and she'd had clients scheduled through-out the night. She was very tired, a little sore, and even - surprise surprise - a little irritable from having to deal with several of her more annoying clients. She was glad to be off for the day, and felt at least slightly better after a hot shower and a long soak in the tub. She was looking forward to sleeping away a large portion of the day, but just then her ringing phone threatened to delay those plans. Tanith debated whether or not she'd answer it as she slipped into her robe. Being a person without friends or family, there weren't a hell of a lot of people in the world that called her. It was almost strictly limited to clients.
"It stops making that dreadful sound if you pick it up, does it not?" Tanith looked up to see Eztli peeking in her bathroom door.
"It does," she answered.
"Then you should pick it up," Eztli informed her, before lazily heading back into the bedroom. "The sound offends my senses."
"Damn cat," Tanith growled, following it into the bedroom. It had been a mistake to let it into her room, but her paranoia over not sleeping properly had given her a moment of weakness. If the damn cat insisted on being her familiar, she'd at least hoped it'd be able to stop... whatever it was that was happening. It hadn't, and now she couldn't get rid of it.
Picking up the phone, she was surprised to see the name of Treat Lorimer on the caller ID. Is it done? she wondered, and somewhere deep inside of her a spark of hope and excitement had flared up. Not that she really recognized what those things were anymore. She decided she'd take this call. Still, she couldn't resist the urge to mess with his head a little. She hit the accept button and held the phone to her ear. "Mistress Tanith," she greeted flatly, thinking that might throw him off guard. She wondered if he'd come to terms with that yet. It had so seemed to fuck with his head when she told him.
