"Yeah you better not, I'd kick your ass if you did." And she would, too, even though Fluffy said this with a smile. "I didn't say they have glitter in all colors, did I? Anyway that's not what I meant, I meant that they have it in a lot of colors. Blue, green, pink, red...yellow I guess. Golden and silver too. And a bunch more, I bet." She shrugged. Looking up again, she finally realized what it was that had plopped down between them. Rain! "Oh, it's raining. Cool." Fluffy liked the rain, even if it tended to run her makeup and make her look like some kind of monster.
"Whatever dude, if it's good enough for me, it's good enough for you, you dig?" She shrugged. She didn't want to win any swimming races, just not drown. And that, she was good at. "Nope, I don't change at all!" He was only going to be pissed again, wasn't he? "A witch...does magic. Basically." Fluffy paused a moment, before drawing a breath and making an apologetic face. "You really should direct those questions to a supernatural bookstore. If you can read English. You can, right?" At Dylan's next question, Fluffy laughed. "Well that's just too bad isn't it? I guess it's because I'm human? I don't know."
Fluffy made a doubtful face. She seriously doubted the little merman got human humor all that well, but she wasn't going to tell him that. "Nope, the fishes we keep as pets are too tiny to eat. Really, really tiny. And they don't tend to grow." Boy was he full of questions. "Oh, we keep dogs, cats, a bunch of rodents like rabbits, hamsters, squirrels, guinea pigs, rats, spiders, tarantulas, snakes, lizards, fish, turtles...A bunch of them, really. Some people even keep wild animals like big felines and monkeys and stuff." She nodded. "I have a familiar, which is a pet that talks and helps you out with your powers. His name's Elijah and he's a frilled lizard. He's hilarious."
Rolling her eyes, Fluffy patted Dylan on the shoulder. "Of course humans made that up, it's what we do, we use our imagination to make up stories. Don't you merpeople have stories?" She didn't even know how confusing it was for Dylan to conceive a fish who spoke. Anthropomorphism was another thing he needed to learn about eventually.
