Kristen bit her lip when the unknown woman stepped in front of her, feeling very small even when she crouched to her level. For a brief moment she felt a familiar sort of dizzy and there was a flash of images racing through her head. Missy with tears in her eyes and dirt on her face and herself crying, but it was blurred with Missy angry and shouting while she shouted right back. Like her mind didn't know what was real and what wasn't. Her own eyes were still stinging when they focused back in on the woman. People who made promises about not hurting people weren't the ones she wanted to be around. Why did she need to promise; couldn't it just go unsaid? It should be something that didn't need to be said. "Kristen... and this is Mitzi. She's a girl. And I don't think you should, she's growling." The 'at you' was left unsaid. Kristen was starting to think her vague sense of irritation -- it was getting wore -- was directed at Eloisa too. It's a silly name. Eloisa. Why not just Elise or Lisa? No, not silly. It's just stupid.
