Alanna just shrugged and looked away and felt ten different sorts of guilty for going and snapping like that. It was so not like her. She had done a lot in the past week that was nothing like her and she was happy to blame it all on Zach and Aurelia. If not for the two of them then she could have kept on having a life that was something approaching even the realm of normal. But no, they had come along and totally destroyed it. They could have vanished and she still would have felt like they were there. No one could ever even know because Zach had told her what he would do and he - stop. Stop thinking and breathe or the shaking will get worse and it will just not be pretty. Stop it right this minute. Deep breaths were really so important.
"Nothing wrong with worrying, I mean, it's a doctor thing and I worry a ton about my friends too." Alanna could take it to the extreme in that regard and - oh. She stopped walking and blinked at Quinn, face slowly turning red before she looked away at the ground. "No... not anymore." Her palms felt all sweaty so she brought them out of her jeans and wiped them off on the outside, twisting them together in a familiar fidget. This was the dangerous part of what she was. Telling people that she was a were was one thing, because most of the time they liked to just assume that you were a born and therefore no more dangerous than anyone else since you could control yourself. Tell them that you were a bitten and they might try to get you registered with the police so that they could round you up for a lock-in or whatever they wanted to do. Hell if Alanna knew. She pulled on the brightest, most fake, smile in the world and gave it to Quinn. "I got fixed." The smile faded. "Or, you know, made worse. It depends on your view of the world, I guess. I can be a dentist now without having a complete meltdown every time I put my hand in someone's mouth so that's a win, right? I just..." A piece of hair tucked behind her hair and her fingers started to drum against her legs. "I'm a were. That's why you went crashing to the ground and I didn't stumble. Sorry again."
