Laser pointers are totally in Who: Silvia and Annie (NPC) Where: Home When: Morning
Back to school shopping had been more fun than Silvia had ever remembered. Mostly because there hadn’t been some sort of a limit imposed from the moment that she stepped through the door. No, Nikita seemed more than happy to splurge on everything that existed. If Silvia looked at it and smiled then it was in the cart. If she looked cute in it? Same thing. Silvia was pretty sure that Annie’s assistance had been totally necessary since they’d went and bought more than she ever had. Her closet hadn’t held this many clothes back at home! What if this was totally normal and they’d do the same thing next time she needed clothes?
“I’m going to be spoiled totally rotten,” Silvia informed the poster of kittens playing on her wall. “Mom would be rolling around in her grave and dad. Oh god, dad would have seven different kinds of heart attack.” Or more.
It was weird to not have anyone around to talk to. Or play with. She’d gotten used to having the twins there to drag around a piece of string or toss one of those little mice… sure, she had a huge playhouse now and all sorts of video games but she’d already played those enough for the day. What she wanted to do was chase a string or laser pointer but for that she needed another person. And Nikita was sleeping. She didn’t want to wake her up because vampires needed their sleep just like cats did. Only they usually just slept during the day.
Maybe Annie was in! Rolling off the bed, Silvia picked up her favorite laser pointer and went padding out of her room to search for the assistant who always seemed to be around. “Annie? Anniiiiiiiiiieeeeeee!” First she poked her head into one room and then the next, starting to feel a little disheartened as she entered the office. Only to spot the blonde seated there, flipping through papers. “Good morning, Annie.”
The woman looked up and gave her a smile. “Hey Silvia, what’s up?”
Silvia held up the laser pointer. “I’m bored and I was wondering if you’d play with me for a bit?”
“Don’t you have all sorts of video games and a computer? I’ve got work to do here for Ms. Vostrikova, Silvia.”
The young girl deflated a little, twirling the laser point and looking down at the ground. “Okay.” Not wanting to be a bother, she turned to head back to her room, see if maybe one of the games could hold her interest until she felt like taking a nap. If Kristen didn’t hate her so much then -
“Wait, Silvia, okay. I’ll play with you.” Annie got up and rounded the desk to pluck the laser pointer from Silvia’s hands. She was grinning as she tested it out. “But only for a little bit, okay?”
Nodding, Silvia gave her the benefit of a bright grin before her human form melted away and a half-grown silver tabby was wriggling her way out from under her t-shirt. Mewing happily, she pawed at Annie’s shoe and waited for the laser pointer. “You are too cute for words, you know that?” Silvia nodded her head and lashed her tail. With another laugh, Annie aimed the laser pointed at the wall and Silvia was off.
Despite the fact that Silvia was technically as much of a human as she was a cat, she still couldn’t resist the simple pleasure of chasing a little dot of red light all the way around a room. Only when it went up a wall she was smart enough to jump up on the couch and launch herself at it clawing a little at the wall before she slid back down and continued the case. Fifteen minutes worth of it and she found herself completely worn out, waving a little paw when Annie kept moving it around. No, no more.
“Look at the tired little kitty,” Annie cooed, bending down to scoop the now-purring Silvia up. Instead of putting her back down, Annie took Silvia back to the desk with her and let her curl up in her lap. Cat-naps were the best either in a bright spot of sunshine or on someone’s laps while they scratched behind your ears. Since it was all cloudy out the ear-scratching would have to do and Silvia was more than content to drift off to sleep while Annie finished her work. Maybe when she woke up she’d break in that cat-playhouse Nikita had bought for her.
Spoiled as a girl and a cat? This was definitely the life. So long as Silvia didn’t think about her actual family it was all good.
