Let me tell you how it'd be, you won't get with this you see Who: Tessa Rogers and Ziggy Redleaf Where: Out on the town in Scarlet Oak When: Evening
Tessa hadn't meant to be that girl sitting alone and drinking at the bar. Really, she hadn't. If she'd gone anywhere else but to a bar, then it was likely she could have talked Troy into going with her, and she had asked Naoki. Everyone was either working or tied up or something, and she was not going to sit in the townhouse and mope. Oh hell no, Tessa had more self-respect than that. So, out on the town it was, and she was hoping she'd run into someone she knew. Or meet someone new. Whatever, so long as there was something or someone to keep her distracted, it was all good in Tessa's book.
So, toying with the bracelet she wore, she took a seat at the bar and flagged down the bartender - only to have him demand her ID and say, "Don't even try, I can spot a fake from a mile away." Really, it was the wrong thing to say to a temperamental fire elemental who just wanted a damn drink already. It took everything Tessa had not to summon flames right then and there, and rather just drop her license on the counter and say, "Sweetie, I'm older than I look, and if you know what's good for you you'll get me a Jack and coke, no ice, and no dilly-dallying." What? Neither Troy nor Naoki were here to make sure she was on her best behavior and damn it, this was not the time to make fun of her because she was little and looked young. Maybe tonight wasn't meant to be her night after all.
