And its time for me to face that perfect day Who: Bradley and Winifred Where: The Owl's Nest When: late morning
But Winifred Sloan was not most people. She'd taken forever to get dressed this morning, something that was never a problem for the witch. She just wanted to look like she belonged, and was very excited about the prospect of working with Isaiah and his father. She'd finished changing out the daily specials in all the menus with a song in her heart, humming for all she was worth while she stood at the hostess station of the Owl's Nest. Her gaze kept flicking to the back, wondering if Isaiah would be working today. She hadn't brought her phone inside, or she would have sent him a text, but she didn't want to make a bad impression on her first day. She settled for drumming her fingers on the little desk at the front, craning her neck back to look at the kitchen. When customers came in, she was the epitome of politeness and friendliness, seating them as she'd been taught. She didn't even mind the odd looks they gave at her Southern drawl; today nothing could dampen her mood.
Not only was Winifred finally working, which she had to admit her bank account desperately needed, but she had a boyfriend. And not just any person, but Isaiah Williamson. The light of her happiness of that simple fact lit her eyes and made them shine, her face glowing and her smiles easily forming on her lips. She tried to keep her thoughts from wandering when there wasn't anything for her to do, but it seemed as if her mind was incapable of not going straight to thoughts of the were-falcon. Lorcan had even made note of how much she thought about him, and how her moods were greatly improved. True, they'd only really been dating for a little while, and had only made things "official" just yesterday, but Winifred thought that it was definitely a good enough reason to be giddy. She hummed to herself again, tapping her foot to music that only she could hear. So far, being a hostess wasn't hard at all. That, or they hadn't hit the lunch rush yet. Either way, Winifred was looking forward to getting the opportunity to waitress or even cook after a while. It would definitely make the time go by faster. She smiled as an older couple came into the restaurant, and after seating them in a nice booth, she went back to the podium, waiting for someone else to come in.
