'Can I chase the duck?' Of course Knight's attention would go to the duck instead of anything else. Had he not noticed that this was a demon who appeared to be human standing on the doorstep? Or perhaps just a very, very strongly demonic-blooded human... which would mean that Zaviar's assumption that he had strong demonic blood was incorrect since he smelled nowhere near that strong. 'I think he's a demon and I really want to chase the duck.' Zaviar was not going to respond to such a ridiculous statement. His familiar was being ridiculous and he knew it. Clearly having Antonin back in the house was a bad influence on the dog. Flittering thoughts that Knight caught, of course, and they caused him to lay his ears back before he started just staring at the duck instead of asking whether or not he could chase it. The thing was as much a familiar as he was so it was not like he intended on grabbing it by the neck and shaking it until he got to taste it. He just wanted to chase it...
Zaviar blinked, but otherwise gave no outward response to what the man - Marius - said. He was not an emotional or expressive man after all and he was not sure of the meaning behind the grin that he had been given. Instead of asking for the man to come inside he just opened the door further and stepped aside with a motion that said he could come in if he wished. Yes he may have very well been a demon, but Zaviar was far from afraid of him. "Zaviar. Why are you here?" Now that was something he did want to know. He also wanted to know if Marius was a demon but that seemed a little secondary compared to the first. Besides, maybe the answer to the first question would answer the unasked one as well.
