She had fire in her soul; it was easy to see
Who: Circe and Xander
Where: UofM Hospital
When: Noon-ish
Circe normally did not spend much (if any) time in the doctor's lounge at the hospital. As far as she was concerned, she came to the hospital to work and not to socialize. Besides, she brought her own food and drink with her. And she thought all her coworkers quite insipid. Some of them were brilliant, yes, but she still did not necessarily enjoy their company. She didn't feel like she really had to. Except today. Her boss had strongly insinuated that she make her way to the doctor's lounge around noon and have her lunch with him instead of by herself in the lab (which she honestly preferred). To be honest, Circe was technically not allowed in the lounge until she was an attending and had earned her stripes at the hospital and all that, but she was under invitation. And she tried not to piss her boss off unless it was completely necessary.
Tucking her stethoscope in one pocket and her lunch (a Greek salad with onions and feta) in a Tupperware in her hand, she walked resolutely to the doctor's lounge. Pushing open the door, a quick taste of the air revealed two things: (1) the head of hematology was, in fact, not there and since he was well-known for being punctual, Circe assumed he wasn't coming and he'd tricked her; and, (2) there was another lamia in the room. She scanned it quickly before her gaze landed on a dark-skinned man across the room. She watched him quietly for a few seconds. It was just like her boss to do something like this. She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear and waited. He'd notice her. It would be interesting to see what he did.
