This is my life, it's not what it was before Who: Isaiah Williamson and Winifred Sloan Where: Winifred's apartment When: Lunchtime
Shit. Shit shit shitshitshit. The word just kept repeating over and over in Isaiah's head. The last thing he wanted was to upset Winifred and though he really couldn't tell what her emotions were via text, he still had the feeling he did. All he knew was that he couldn't let this sit between the two of them and pretend like it never happened, because they both knew it did. Isaiah had to come clean and tell her why he'd had to push her away. It wasn't even the idea that he didn't want to screw up their relationship, which was definitely part of it, but she didn't know everything about falcons yet. Specifically, the part where they mate for life.
When it was your sanity on the line, what did you do? What choice did you make? Who knew, maybe at some point in the future, she would be his mate. That wasn't a decision he wanted to be rushed into - and whenever it happened, he wanted her to know first. To realize how big a decision it was for him. In both of his last relationships, he'd never gotten as far as this talk. With Raina, they simply hadn't been together long enough. With Paige, she'd been so freaked out by his were nature that he knew she couldn't be his mate, and therefore he hadn't felt it worth bringing up.
Now was different. Winifred needed to know this. And Isaiah needed to come clean.
After he got her last text, Isaiah was up and moving, grabbing his shoes and keys and heading out the door. It wasn't like they lived far apart, after all. Running a hand over his hair, he paused at her door for a second before knocking.
