Marisa scented multiple things that were different at the fair, dismissing them all as various were's or other supernaturals she just hadn't come across yet. So long as none of them bothered her she saw no reason why she should be bothered by them. Jacob seemed to be enjoying himself, having returned to gnawing at his lollipop as he bounced along at her side. Right until someone waved at them. Then he stopped, hand tightening on Marisa's as he took a little half-step back so that he could almost hide himself behind her skirt. "Playing at being shy?" Marisa asked with a smile, smoothing down his curls as he shook his head in an attempt to deny it. "Come on now, Jacob, the lady waved and you should wave back. Do you know her?" Marisa didn't. Once she'd known everyone in Scarlet Oak but all that time away had left quite a few people she didn't know there. Perhaps this lady worked at the daycare or something. And had an aquarium. Because she smelled very strongly of fish.
"Hello," Marisa offered. She wasn't exactly the most outgoing person herself but they had been waved at and one of the points of coming out of the house was to interact with the other locals. Or non-locals who were just dropping by because they felt like it. Didn't matter much to her what they were. "Sorry, he's being shy today. Go on, Jacob, say hi."
The little were took his lollipop out of his mouth for a whole five seconds to mutter, "Hi." before burying his face in Marisa's skirt. And they'd talked about him not getting stick all over that. Looked like she was going to be needing to wash it by hand again. Shrugging her shoulders she gave the woman a 'what're you gonna do?' look and mouthed 'shy' while motioning at him. He really did take after her in more ways than just being a were.
