Seeing the way Cecil interacted with his mother gave him a laugh. It reminded him a lot of the way Robbie was when he was that age, only Grant had Sabrina with him then to try and balance it all out. She was always up for any adventure Robbie's little mind could come up with, whether that was playing in a pretend castle outside, or cops and robbers, whatever the boy wanted. Maybe she had more patience than Grant himself did, but he was trying. For Robbie, he wasn't going to give up, no matter what happened.
Robbie had already run ahead a little, waving them in the direction of the ice cream stand. Boy clearly had his priorities in line. Seeing as he wasn't too far ahead, Grant wasn't really worried. Yet. "I'm going to take that as a good thing," he told Jadyn. "And we just moved here, a few months ago. My parents live out in Ann Arbor, so I thought it would be better if we were closer to them." Short version of a very long story, but it was true. If his parents weren't here, then Grant wouldn't be either. And then he never would have found Raya again, and maybe the Landows wouldn't know what he was... too much to think about right now. "What about you?"
