Zip-a-dee-doo-dah Who: Cole and Niamh Where: RiverFest! When: Afternoon
Riverfest was one of those things that you just could not miss out on. Cole did not care who you were, you had to go to Riverfest if you lived anywhere near Scarlet Oak. When you had spent most of your life there it was sort of a really big deal. Especially when Berry Days had gotten cancelled thanks to those jerk vampires who had thought it was a great idea to go and drain some people. Geez, did they not have mothers who had beaten manners into them when they were still alive and little? Cole would have been more than happy to introduce them to his own and see how they came out of it. He was willing to bet as frozen sculptures who would be smart to wish that they had never met her. What? Cole knew his mom. When people irritated her, if they could manage it, then something tended to freeze. His cigarettes for example. A pack of which were currently riding in the pocket of his cargo shorts along with a lighter. Thankfully he was ninety-percent certain that he would not be running into his mom today. He could be wrong but he was happier thinking that he was right. And Niamh would not snitch on him. Or she would, but then he would break something of hers and something of his would probably go missing... it was just probably better if he convinced her not to tell if he decided to light up. Neither of them would want to deal with the fall-out.
But instead of pulling his pack out, Cole hopped over to one of the booths selling food and ordered two cupcakes. Because he had come with his sister so it would be way rude to not share. Plus she could be mopey at times and who could sulk when they had a delicious cupcake in their belly? Cole knew of no one who was capable of such a feat. Plus it was Riverfest and she was a water elemental so... yeah, the two went together like peanut butter and jelly. If he could have a good time then it was mandatory and expected for her to. "So," Cole declared as he took a bite out of his cupcake, tossing the wrapper into a nearby garbage can. "Wanna go see the jet skis or something? If not we can always check out what the vendors brought this year." Cole loved looking at the stalls. Especially the scarves. The scarves that people sold at this sort of thing qualified right up there as 'epic' along with most of the jewelry that you just could not find in a normal store. Since Berry Days had not gone as long as it was supposed to he had missed out on very necessary stall-browsing time that was going to be made up here. Even if he had to do most of it himself. He was cool with that.
