Sit back, get my palette wet
Who: Gabby and Harley
Where: Anywhere But Here
When: 9pm
After a wonderful afternoon in the sun and the water, Gabby was ready for the nightlife. The real night scene was more the jurisdiction of the Ann Arbor area, but Gabby didn’t mind staying in Scarlet Oak. She loved her town, and any excuse to go out and have fun was enough for her. She’d left Urist at home this time, as many bars had a “no pets” policy. Aside from being outraged at being calling a pet, Urist had agreed to stay out of the bar, but has assured her that he would be there at her side if he felt like something was wrong. She’d smiled and scratched behind his ears and left. Her destination for the night was the bar Anywhere But Here, and her mission was to try to push the limit in just how much she could drink before she passed out. There wasn’t much dancing at this bar, and she was okay with it for the night. She wasn’t really looking for the club scene tonight as the music usually left her partially deaf for the entire day afterward. And Riverfest was supposed to start tomorrow, and Bella was supposed to be taking her out on her dad’s boat sometime. Whether it was tomorrow or the day afterward, Gabby wasn’t sure, but she didn’t want to have impaired hearing if she was getting some bestie time.
For now though, she was excited about just unwinding. Entering the bar, she smirked as she offered up the necessary ID. She maneuvered over to the bar itself and smiled brightly as one of the bartender’s took her order for a double Jack and coke. Not the most inventive choice, but it was always a good place to start. When her drink was ready, she handed over the cash and a tip, thanking them. Taking a sip, she moved to press her back against the bar and scan the crowd. It wasn’t too terribly busy yet since it was only around nine, but Gabby still like to people watch. Toying with her necklace, Gabby wondered if she would see anyone she knew very well. Most of the faces were familiar, or used to be. Until all these new people began moving her, drawn by Heme and all the publicity. Gabby wasn’t very surprised, but she hoped the tourists got what they came for when the demons came around again. Sipping her drink, she sighed heavily, already feeling some of the stress melt away.
Harley had the night off. He didn’t often need another reason to go out and party, but it was better when you weren’t out by yourself. Drinking alone meant you looked like a loser at the bar, and Harley was not about to let that happen to him. Just because his dad was currently ignoring him and he was feeling a little lonely didn’t mean anything. Nope, a couple drinks would fix that and then it wouldn’t matter anymore. Maybe that made him a lush, but he wasn’t thinking along those lines. Harley was just out to have himself a good time, and there was not a damn thing wrong with that.
Anywhere But Here might not be the classiest of bars, this was true, but Heme was always full of vampires and to the riflebird, it kind of smelled like death. Sober!Harley would know better than to say anything about it, but drunk!Harley, not so much. So, to Anywhere But Here it was, and ignoring the look the bartender gave him, Harley saddled right up to the bar, adjusting his sweatshirt as he did so, giving the bartender the biggest grin he possibly could. “I’ll have a-” and then he noticed who else was at the bar. “Gabbyyyyyyyyy!” He bounced over to her, drink forgotten. For the moment, anyway. “How are you, girl?” He leaned in to give her a kiss on the cheek, completely unable to help himself.
Gabby had nearly finished her drink, so in tune to drinking as she was at the moment. The people watching was always fun, but for the moment she didn’t see anything happening that could hold her interest like her whiskey and coke could. She sipped at it steadily, wondering if she should have invited anyone to go along with her. Setting her glass down on the bar behind her, she whipped out her phone and shot a few people a text, just to be sure. She doubted Bella would want to come and drink, but she might be willing to give her a ride home if Gabby was too drunk to drive. Which she totally intended on becoming. She doubted her dad would like to get that call, but she would ask him if it came down to it. Or maybe she would just walk home. It wasn’t too terribly far, and walking usually helped her sober up and focus on not passing out, if she’d had too much to drink. She chuckled suddenly, remembering all the stories she already had to do with drinking, and she had only been legal to drink for about four months. Maybe not the best thing to be proud of, but she was sure she would grow up and get it out of her system, just like Urist assured her that she would.
She hadn’t noticed when Harley had come in, but she definitely recognized him when he nearly yelled her name and came over to kiss her cheek. She was happily shocked, and giggled, bringing her hand up to touch her cheek. “Well, hello Harley!” She decided to be a good sport, leaning in so she could plant a wet, lipgloss-infused kiss on his cheek. She wrinkled her nose as she laughed, pulling way. “You totally surprised me! And I’m doing alright. And I’ll be doing even better if you sit and have a drink with me. I’m buying.” She waved the bartender over and nodded at Harley. “Whatever he’s having.” Sure, maybe she was undermining the whole “chivalry” thing by buying him the drink, but he was a good friend. And Bella was really close with him, too, so it was a win-win if her best friend approved. Maybe not of the drinking, but the company, definitely. “How about you, how the hell have you been?” It’d been ages since she’d hung out with Harley, but she was definitely glad that he’d shown up. At least she had someone friendly to talk to for the evening.
Harley, on the other hand, had only been the legal drinking age for a couple of weeks. Not that it had ever stopped him before, that was the bonus of having friends who were fae-blooded. Glamoured fake ID for the win! Well, until the bartender was fae-blooded, saw through said glamour, took his ID and kicked him out of the bar, that had happened once or twice or a dozen times, too. He’d lost track of how many of those things he’d lost over the years. Still, there was nothing compared to the rush he got when he sat down at the bar, put his very legal ID down on the counter, and ordered his drink. Every bartender in the Ann Arbor area should be prepared for the armageddon that was a very drunk Harley Villetta.
At least he was a fun drunk, and not angry and bitter like his dad. Things that definitely counted: that.
Oh, he liked it when Gabby giggled. She was a pretty girl and totally fun to go out with, so why wouldn’t Harley enjoy that? And her kissing his cheek just had him grinning more, enjoying the mark he knew had to be on his face. Battle wound in the game of flirting, as it were. He wore it proudly, even though he could smell what flavor of lip gloss she was wearing. “Well, I wasn’t about to let you sit by yourself,” he pointed out, claiming the stool next to hers as his own. “And you are a doll, seriously. Next one’s on me.” So long as he actually remembered to pay for said drinks, he forgot about that part sometimes. “I’ll have... rum and coke, more rum than coke, thank you very much.”
Gabby had not been very good with the whole waiting to turn twenty one thing, either, and had definitely gotten her older friends to buy her alcohol. Getting into bars was another thing altogether, and the one time she’d gotten busted with a fake ID, she’d actually done the honest thing and never tried it again. That was what drinking at home was for. Or at parties. At least in her opinion. Scarlet Oak might look quiet, but it was anything but that when you really got to know it. Now, drunken shenanigans didn’t happen as often as Gabby would have liked, but they did happen. Now that she was of age, it was a whole lot less nerve-wracking. For the first few hours at least, and then the alcohol had made her not worry at all if she would get caught. Carefree was the way to drink, and Gabby sipped at hers happily, definitely glad for the company. Drinking with Harley was always amusing, and always exciting. He just seemed to make anything interesting, and she definitely appreciated his sense of humor.
Gabby wasn’t a mean drunk either, unless of course you messed with any of her friends or herself in a bad way, and then she would go to town. Nobody could flip their shit faster than a fire elemental, and she was definitely a hair trigger when it came to some things. Though, as far as she could tell, she was looking forward to another giggly and silly night in which she probably talked too much and shared too much information. But that was the fun part about drinking, people were less likely to judge you when their inhibitions were shot all to shit. Smiling, Gabby nodded. “I’m glad! And if I’d seen you first, I definitely would’ve have done the surprising.” Though how she’d missed Harley at all she had no idea. He was a huge ball of energy and definitely liked to strut; she should have seen him coming a mile away. “A doll, hmm?” Gabby grinned like an idiot, never one to refuse a compliment. She took some cash out and handed it over to the bartender once he was done making Harley’s drink, leaving a few dollars extra for the tip. She waved away the man when he asked if she needed change. Generally if she tipped well early on in the night, the bartender had a way of always making sure Gabby never went without a drink. She would definitely take advantage of that tonight. “So, how have you been?” She made a show of turning her head this way and that, checking Harley out. “You don’t look like you’ve met a demon, but your sweat-shirt’s kinda covering a lot.” She wiggled her eyebrows, reaching over to tug the zipper down in one pull. “Much better.” She winked and poked him in the side. “Any war wounds?”
He refused to let something as little as getting busted with a fake ID to stop him from doing the things he loved. Sure, most of the bartenders in Scarlet Oak knew to be on the lookout for him, which was why he sometimes had to go to Ann Arbor in order to get his fix, but he wasn’t really responsible for that. Harley just had one of those easily recognizable faces.... and voices... and you know, being the insanely tall kid with a penchant for flirting sometimes worked against him. All part of being what he was, a riflebird, and Harley was at least aware that it was where he got it from. It didn’t bother him in the slightest.
Gabby had nothing to worry about - he wasn’t going to judge her! She was pretty and bubbly and adorable and these were all good things in Harley’s book. A giggly and silly night was just what the doctor ordered, as the phrase went. (Though Harley would straight up deny giggling while drunk, because in his mind he didn’t do that. That he could remember, anyway.) “And I am good!” he said, beaming as the bartender passed his drink over and he got to take a sip of the deliciousness. Made just the way he’d asked, too - which was awesome, the bartender had certainly earned his tip by now. “No, see, I was smart this time, and did NOT go out while those things were around. Because seriously, last time, when one tore apart my Firebird? Oh hell no, we were not doing that again.” His bank account had been so sad, and his birthday was right on the heels of that, too. He was lucky he’d found enough money to buy that much booze. He leaned in a little closer as she undid his hoodie, grinning. “You don’t look like you’ve met a demon, but....” He reached over to brush her hair over her shoulder. “That would require closer inspection.”
Taking a breath, Gabby finished the rest of her drink in one go, nodding her head when the bartender asked if she wanted another. She paid and tipped the man again, smiling sweetly as she did before she turned back to Harley, the smile softening in a tell-tale way. “That’s nice to hear. I’m tired of all the people flipping their shit over the demons. My dad’s still going on about it, and I didn’t even start going out until there wasn’t anything on the news.” Gabby knew she didn’t exactly lose cool points for still living with her dad, but it still bothered her to mention it. The scowl on her face was brief, and was soon replaced by a bit of a smirk. She listened to Harley and took a sip of her drink, sighing as the alcohol was beginning to warm her up. Sure, she was already pretty warm, but alcohol just made things all the more satisfying. “That’s good. No need to put yourself in harm’s way. And it would have been a damn shame if your car got fucked up again, I know nobody wants to pay that much out of pocket in damages. Do you think they make demon insurance, now? They might as well start, because it doesn’t seem like they’re going away any time soon.” Gabby had the sinking feeling she was talking too much already and she silenced her little speech with a self-conscious sort of giggle. She had to look up a ways to meet Harley’s gaze with her own; she found herself looking up from underneath her eyelashes and grinning back at him as he came close. She blinked slowly as Harley’s hand brushed her hair back and smirked as it grazed her neck. “Well, you can get as close as you like.” Gabby winked at him and took another lingering sip of her drink, her eyes never leaving Harley’s face.
Harley loved the way Gabby’s smile softened when she looked at him. Truly, he did. It made him feel like she was only looking at him, and what boy didn’t like that? Granted, if she didn’t want him to flirt with her, by this point in the evening she was going to have to pry him off of her with a crow bar. Whoops. “See, at least your dad was trying to protect you and all. Mine? He’s kind of a douche, so he was ripshit when I wrecked my car, but this time he didn’t even really talk to me at all. Probably figured I was going to go out and do something dumb anyway. Which, by the way, I did not. See? I’m learning!” He sipped at his drink, barely able to contain his smirk. “If they have demon insurance, I’m going to have to pick up more hours at Lenore’s just to be able to afford it. I’d like to think my luck is better than that, but then again, I didn’t expect to meet one the first time so... yeah.” Oh, that look was downright sinful and Harley just beamed. Gabby was hot, and she knew she was hot, and that was all great in his book. He let his hand trail over her neck, leaning in so he could whisper in her ear. “Like this close?”
Gabby would be a fool if she couldn’t admit to herself that she loved to flirt. She loved attention and Harley was always exceptional at giving her exactly that. It also didn’t hurt that he was always so easy on the eyes. Not that she was that shallow. She had had a bit of a crush on Harley ever since they’d met. She couldn’t help herself. Taking a huge drink from her whiskey and coke, she sighed as the alcohol went down smooth, her pulse responding to both the fiery liquid and the close proximity of Harley. She frowned slightly when he was talking about his dad; Gabby didn’t like the idea that his father wasn’t looking out for him. Granted, it might be better than the daily verbal brain-bash session that she got with her own father, but still. At least it showed he cared. “Well, if you ever need a lecture, I’m sure my dad could pencil you in right after he has to talk to me about sneaking out. Again. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind, he loves to hear himself talk.” Mostly it was because her father loved to hear and feel the way the Air mixed with his voice, but she didn’t need to broadcast that to the rest of the bar. There were creatures in this town who could pick up their conversation across the room, and she wasn’t about to out her dad for any reason. “I’m glad that you learned your lesson. Your Firebird’s probably pretty thankful, too.” She wrinkled her nose, chuckling softly. “I’ll be glad once I’m working at school, that way I don’t have to ask ‘daddy’ for everything, ugh.” Gabby usually picked up some sort of job on campus at UoM, which helped her stay more focused. The more she stayed at college, the more she seemed to be more aware of what all she needed to get done, and usually the people there didn’t mind if she studied while she worked. Depended on what it was. “If you have to work more hours at your job, I may just set someone on fire. All work and no play makes Harley a dull boy.” She smirked, very excited that he had leaned in so close to her. His whisper in her ear caused a genuine shiver to rush over her skin, a hard task for any fire elemental. Turning her head towards his, she made an “mmm” sound low in her throat, grinning as his hand lingered on her neck. “Perfect,” she barely breathed, her face not even an inch away from his. She left the gap there though, the mischievous look in her eyes letting him make the move if he wanted.
He only pulled away enough to take a sip of his own drink, still sober enough to realize that spilling his drink on her would ruin the evening. Harley didn’t want anything to ruin the evening if he could help it. He’d always liked Gabby and getting to spend some one-on-one time with her was always welcome - especially since the rest of their friends weren’t around to give him the evil eye. It wasn’t taking advantage of anyone if she was clearly into him too, and flirting right back. If Gabby said no, Harley would of course respect that. “Please, when my dad talks to me, it’s nothing but lectures, I think I’m full up,” he said, shaking his head. “See, my old man and I have an arrangement - I keep from getting arrested, he mostly stays out of my life. It works out for the most part.” Kind of. Except for that part where it felt like Harley didn’t have a dad, sometimes. Didn’t have a family at all, and hadn’t since his mother walked out. Another thing he wasn’t going to think about right now. “But still, nice of you to offer. I think I’d rather spend more time with you than time with your dad, no offense.” Gabby was certainly easier on the eyes and thought along the same lines he did, what could possibly be wrong with this picture? He could hear the word she breathed out, and that was all he needed to know. “I won’t ever be dull, Gabby. You and I will make sure of that.” They were close enough and Harley was ever the risk taker, so he leaned in and stole a little kiss. Not like the boy could help himself, really. He never could with cute girls.
Gabby knew all too well the looks that Harley would be getting if their little one-on-one were witnessed by any of their close friends, and really, she was touched with their concern. However unnecessary it was. She knew Harley well enough to know that he was a huge flirt. And okay, so she didn’t mind that part because she was exactly the same way, too. It was just the whole part where they both seemed to flirt with everyone. Two peas in a pod, really. So sometimes, Gabby wasn’t even sure herself who she really did like. She wondered if Harley had that problem, too, and decided that the fluttering of her pulse at Harley’s continued closeness was all the confirmation that she needed that, yes, she liked Harley for more than just flirtation. And maybe she had for a while, but she would have to drink a lot more before she would admit that, even to herself. She pulled a surprised face at Harley’s little arrangement with his dad. “I guess that’s all well and good, but what about the rest of it? The day to day stuff? I’d beat down my dad’s door if we didn’t nearly always have dinner together.” It was true. Despite her penchant for sneaking out and disregarding her father’s lectures every once in a while, Gabby still wanted her dad to do all those things and more. She appreciated them, even if she wouldn’t tell her dad that. She pouted a little bit at Harley, deciding that maybe it wasn’t the nicest thing to talk about. “None taken. I think I’d rather hang out with you than someone my dad’s age, too.” A creepy thought, especially if it was in the same sorts of situations. And then suddenly the thought was erased from her mind as Harley murmured something about not being dull and kissed her. However brief it was, it stole a surprised gasp from her lips as well, and Gabby’s face went from shocked to happy to mischievous in no time flat. “Oh yeah? Not like a night with you could ever really be dull.” Before he could reply, she’d moved in even closer so that she could steal her own kiss from Harley’s lips, her free hand moving up into his thick hair. Her lips lingered against his much longer than she had intended and she pulled back with a breathless giggle, hoping to hide her blush in the act of sipping her drink.
Harley always knew his friends had the best of intentions in mind when they tried to stop him from doing things they deemed “stupid.” He couldn’t see flirting - or kissing! - Gabby to be bad by any means, so he was going to go with it for as long as she let him. Granted, his attention span did sometimes waiver, but when he was with her? Oh yes, he was with her, and his attention wasn’t going anywhere else. Right now, this felt too damn good to stop, and the riflebird in him was perfectly pleased with all the attention he was getting. The face she made while talking about his dad kind of surprised him, though. “We don’t have that kind of relationship, never did,” he said, shrugging. “I don’t want to think about that right now. I can think of a million and one other... more interesting things.” Like the hot fire elemental in front of him, and no, he wasn’t talking about the flames she could produce out of thin air. He chuckled against her lips and kept her close, liking the way she kissed him back. If she kissed him back, that was pretty much a green light for the rest of the night in Harley’s book. He might not have left the house thinking anything would happen, but he’d totally take this. Especially when he and Gabby hadn’t been able to find much time alone as of late. Somewhere, Alex was probably facepalming. Either that, or the wolfy was jealous. “Never,” he agreed, liking the way she was playing with his hair. He knew there was a reason to keep it long, and she could get it as messy as she wanted. “See, this? Not dull at all.”
Gabby knew all too well the looks she would be getting from Bella, and possibly from Alex, too. But they weren’t anywhere nearby, and even if they were, the fire elemental doubted very much that they would actually have any legitimate reasons to interfere. She’d known them all long enough that they should be able to understand that it was just in Gabby’s nature to be flirtatious. Okay, well maybe bridging that gap and actually kissing Harley was a step in a direction she hadn’t had the opportunity to take before, but she didn’t think it had anything to do with her friends proximity. Either way, Gabby was glad that she was alone with Harley, and there weren’t any people around who seemed to mind. Nodding at Harley’s subject change, she smiled and continued to thread her fingers up into his shaggy hair. She hadn’t expected it to be as soft as it was, and it was a pleasant surprise. “Hmm, interesting things? Like what?” Her smile morphed into a knowing grin, her eyes crinkling with amusement. “Like the fact that I’m pretty sure we should get more opportunities like this? Just the two of us?” Gabby had never really needed liquid confidence, but what little fiery drink was in her system was emboldening her further. “You know you’ve thought about it just as much as I have.” So, perhaps Gabby was just guessing on that one, but from the way that Harley stayed so close to her, she figured it was a safe bet. “Unless of course I’m wrong.” Her smug smirk said otherwise as she turned her face so that she could take a sip of her drink. Gabby had never really thought about whether or not Alex was the jealous type, but at the moment she didn’t really have much power to linger over thoughts of the other guy. No, her attention was completely absorbed by Harley. “What sort of trouble do you think we could get into tonight?” Gabby was always down for any sort of shenanigans, and Harley made the perfect partner in crime.
Alone time with a girl was always awesome in Harley’s book. Alone time with a girl like Gabby, who flirted as much as he did, was even better, and he couldn’t lie and say he hadn’t thought about kissing her long before now. He’d thought about more than that, but he’d keep those particular thoughts to himself, right now. He made a happy little noise under his breath, leaning his head into her hand. “Yessssss,” he said, looking up at her from underneath all that hair, “exactly that. You and me,” he gestured to the two of them, “we’ve got some lost time to make up for.” Or just time they’d spent together in the company of other people. This was totally better. “And of course I’ve thought about it, duh.” He smirked back at her, pulling back enough to take a sip of his drink, only to put it aside again and tug on her waist. When Harley said he wanted her close, the boy wasn’t kidding. His lap also did double duty as a perfectly good seat. “It all depends, Gabby, on where we end up at the end of the night.” There was a devilish little sparkle in his eye, the kind any other person would be worried by. Somehow, he didn’t think Gabby minded.
Gabby giggled at the way Harley leaned into her touch, and the sexy way he looked at her from under his shaggy hair. She was probably in fire elemental heaven, at this point. Well, no, there were certain other things that would help her feel even more happy, but she wasn’t going to think about them until they actually happened. She wasn’t too sure she would be able to control herself if she spent any more time around Harley, and for some reason that was more exciting than it should have been. She could hear Urist’s scolding, already, and the thought just made her smile. “Good. Because I’m not gonna lie. I’m pretty glad you came here tonight.” She used her hand in Harley’s hair to pull him close enough so she could press a kiss to his lips. When he tugged on her waist, she smiled, setting her drink down so she could hop up onto Harley’s lap. At the tone of his voice, and the look in his eyes, Gabby raised an eyebrow and smirked, definitely mirroring his expression perfectly. “Oh, I can think of lots of places. But here is good for now.” And by here, she meant in his lap, and she wriggled slightly for emphasis. She took a huge sip from her drink, darting her eyes up to catch Harley’s gaze as she did. Oh, she could be quite evil when it came to flirting, but she figured that he wouldn’t be unhappy about it.
Self-control and Harley were rarely on speaking terms, and anyone who knew him longer than five minutes was well aware of that. It rarely led to anything bad - complicated, sure, but never bad. He failed to see how having a very happy Gabby in his lap could be bad or complicated, and he could think of half a dozen ways to make this better. They also involved possibly breaking in the bar’s counter and therefore probably getting them thrown out, arrested, or both, but who was thinking about consequences? Not Harley, that was for damn sure. “So am I.” And the way she pulled on his hair a little to kiss him? Harley liked that, and once she was in his lap, he was sure she’d be able to tell. He wasn’t ashamed about that in the slightest. When she wiggled, one of his hands went to her hip, just underneath the hem of her shirt, and pressed her down into him. “You let me know when that changes.” He reached over for a sip of his own drink, smirking. Two could play this game.
Gabby was actually trying to work very hard at behaving herself, but for some reason, that didn’t seem to be the best plan of action at the moment. She moaned against his lips a little when Harley kissed her back, breaking the kiss long enough to give him a gasp when he pressed her hips down against him. She could definitely tell that he liked her kisses and wriggling, and it made her momentarily blank of what it was she should have been doing right now. Oh right, ordering another drink, and staying put. However, the flames inside her wouldn’t let that be. Taking the drink out of his hand after he’d taken a sip, Gabby set it on the counter. Leaning in, she pressed her lips against Harley’s ear. “I think we should go someplace....private.” So saying, she bit down on his earlobe, her tongue snaking out to taste the skin of his neck, right below his ear. “Unless you have a better idea?” Gabby kissed her way back to Harley’s mouth, her lips hungry against his. Her tongue parted his lips and delved into his mouth, moaning at the warm, silky feel of him. “I want you.” She murmured it against his lips, her eyes finding his. For a moment, a flash of vulnerability was in her gaze. And then it was gone, replaced by brazen, wanton need and desire. So, she was a bit carried away, what of it? Not the first time it’d ever happened to a fire elemental, and it wouldn’t be the last. So, it really hadn’t taken long at all for her mind to change. She chalked it up to just how nice it felt to kiss Harley, finally, and to sit in his lap.
He could be the responsible one and lean over, set her back down on the chair next to him, and order them both another round. But the way Harley saw it, they would probably end up right where they were sooner rather than later and who was he to deny something he wanted? Especially when he’d gotten her to moan, Harley could never turn down attention like that. It simply wasn’t in his nature and the fact that it was Gabby made all the difference in his mind. The hand on her hip moved around to her back a little, liking that her skin was soft and warm when he touched it, and he couldn’t help the shudder that went through him when she bit down on his ear and followed it up with her tongue teasing his neck. Well then. Insistent, aren’t we? Harley didn’t mind in the slightest. He moaned back when she finally met his lips, letting his tongue tease hers a little. “And I want you,” he whispered back. “Come on. Let’s go.” He didn’t want her to move, but he had the feeling the bartender would not respond kindly to them breaking in his counter, so out the door it was. At least he hadn’t parked all that far, and he was sure they could find somewhere for them to go. And hell, if they went back to his place and Kai was home, it wasn’t like she’d be surprised by any of it.
Self control had never really been one of Gabby’s strong suits. When you added lust and desire to all the attention she was getting, it made a heady mix. Add a dash of alcohol and the fire elemental was pretty much out of luck when it came to reigning in her urges. The straw that broke the camel’s back, though? That was all Harley, and Gabby wasn’t in any hurry to analyze that one. No, she would rather focus on the feel of his hand on her back, and the slight tremor that went through his body at her touch. His moan on her lips was all the encouragement she needed as she kissed him again, disentangling herself from his lap reluctantly. Her hands clung to Harley as they moved through the bar and out into the night, a giggle catching in her throat. She followed him out to his car, pinning him bodily against it as soon as they got close enough. “Where to?” Gabby wasn’t really sure she actually cared where they went at that point, so long as it was private. She bit into her lower lip as she looked up at Harley, keeping eye contact as she rolled her hips against his. On tip-toe, that is. Tall Harley was tall. Gabby giggled again, feeling a little silly and just happy at the moment, wondering what he would think of. “I’d say my place, but my dad’s home, soooo.... Any chance of getting some alone time at yours?” She “walked” her fingers up his chest before tapping him on the nose, her smile anything but innocent as she claimed his lips again with her own.
At this rate Harley was far beyond trying to control whatever urges he was, the more important part was whether he could get them out of the public eye before he completely gave in. He didn’t really like the idea of letting her go so they could leave, but it was necessary, and the way she pinned him against the Firebird? Oh yeah, that was hot. This could lead to a very fun night, and Harley wouldn’t have any regrets in the morning. Actually, he’d probably want to do this again. And again. If Gabby would let him. He let his hands travel down to her hips and pulled her up enough so he could roll his hips back into hers, knowing it was just a preview. It took him a moment to answer, kissing him like she was, but Harley didn’t mind. He drew out the kiss, tongue tracing a line along her lower lip, before pulling back enough to whisper in her ear. “I say we start with the backseat of my car... and then back to my place.” Impatient? Totally. But Harley wasn’t treating this as a random hookup, exactly, and he did want to spend the whole night with her. If his dad hadn’t realized Kai was staying with them, then he wasn’t going to notice Gabby spending the night either. It all worked out in his head.
Everything about this night had gone just the way Gabby wanted it; how not, when it involved Harley? As far as she was concerned, this was a long time in coming, and she was not going to hold anything back. And if this night was repeated? She could definitely get used to that. What fire elemental didn’t like the attention? And if she was absolutely honest, it was far beyond just the instinctual desire to be close to someone. Harley’s hands on her hips sent another warm shudder through her body and she moaned at the feel of his tongue on her mouth. His warm breath on her ear made her smile, and she nodded, not wanting to wait either. She didn’t say a word, and just smiled that devilish smile up at the were, drawing him towards her so they could open the door. She climbed inside and pulled Harley in on top of her, immediately reclaiming his lips with her own, her hands beginning to tug at his clothing. How steamy could a Firebird get when it contained a fire elemental and a were riflebird? They were about to find out.
