It's years since you've been there Who: Regina and Open Where: The church When: Afternoon
Regina sat on the bench closest to the door, sighing. Everything had happened so fast she hadn't had time to breathe properly ever since she'd come "running" back to earth. Despite not being particularly religious, never being able to decide on a theory on God and not being part of any particular denomination, churches had always made Regina feel calm. She assessed the last few days, how unbelievably easy it had been to get the job that had once been her father’s – only because the family he protected had only good memories of him and she had lied and said she was a niece (couldn’t be his daughter, obviously, not after all this time). The apartment, she had gotten by paying the deposit with money her father had left in the bank in her name, same for her brother. He always thought of everything, obviously.
Now, she had to think of what to do. Clive and Chuck was all she could think of, but she had no idea how to find them. The world had changed so much since the last time she had been on it, technology, philosophy, and people. Regina didn’t feel comfortable just yet, or at home, despite having money and a place to stay figured out so quickly. She sighed again, looking up at the altar, at the big cross behind it, waiting for a sign she knew she wasn’t going to get. She decided she needed to know people, maybe in law enforcement, or private detectives. That was it! Private detectives. If she could hire one maybe he or she could shed some light on her son’s whereabouts. All she wanted was to see with her own eyes that he was well; she didn’t dream of approaching him, much less tell him the truth. Not before she did the same with Clive, if she ever had the courage.
Sitting back on the bench, Regina smiled for the first time since all this had happened and closed her eyes. She felt a wave of peace involving her, something she couldn’t feel anywhere else.
