"Oh, indeed," Audra agreed easily as she handed over the cash to pay for her coffee and scone with a hefty tip for the baristas included. "It's certainly not what it was." Her eyebrow arched again, her somewhat unnerving stare landing on the man so as to leave no question about whom she spoke. "Some days, it seems as though a girl can't get a cup of coffee without running into someone blatantly ignoring the manners with which he or she was surely raised." Honestly, society really wasn't what it used to be. For all their depressingly short lifespans and rather comedic tendency to stick swords into each other, humans a few centuries ago had really had something going with the whole chivalry deal.
She gave him a sweet smile as she accepted her order, stepping to the side to grab a couple napkins. Popping the top on her mocha, she stirred in a little cinnamon, tasted it, and added a bit more. She had a rather undeniable sweet tooth, and why not? It wasn't as if she had to watch her figure or worry about diabetes or heart disease by indulging. Unless someone took to blessing the condiments at coffee shops, she didn't have a damn thing to worry about. "Such a shame, isn't it?" she remarked as she put the top back on her drink and turned to scan for an empty table.
