Haaappy birthday to yooouuu-
Who: Bunny and Cole
Where: The park
When: Afternoon
Dinner would have been too much. Regular lunch would have been too normal. Cooking something himself would have been right up there with 'a disaster' but there was nothing that said that a good picnic lunch in the park was not exactly what a girl would want on her birthday. Or at least appreciate. Hey, Cole was trying here and so what if the main reason he was trying happened to be a gnawing feeling of guilt? Bunny did not know that and did not have to know that. It was really bad form to go and tell someone that you had been making out with someone else while dating them on their birthday. Cole knew that he would have taken it badly, possibly, so... he was using that as a judge. Or trying not to think about it at all. Mind back on the whole picnic for the girlfriend because it's her birthday now, okay Cole? Can we do this? Should we have gotten Fries to figure out how to give a little electrical zap before leaving the house or something? No, he had this. He was chill and cool and the freaking out had gotten out of his system yesterday so now he could just... chill. And wish I hadn't sent that text to Locke in addition to everyone else in the world. He really needed to put his contacts into groups for situations like this.
Okay. Picnic was ready. The blanket was spread out, the food - complete with a little birthday cake and a candle - was in the basket so the sun did not get to it, Bunny's present was wrapped and settled at the bottom of the basket so that he could give it to her after they ate and... yeah, ready. Now all that needed to happen was Bunny needed to get there. And he needed to stop fidgeting with his phone. Okay, no, that one was never going to happen so long as electricity and the cellular network existed. He viewed modern technology as one of the best things to happen in the history of ever and like hell he was going to let himself be cut off from it. Thank god his family was not one of those crazy ones that liked camping or 'roughing it'. Hell, just the idea of trying to drag him and his sisters away from their laptops, cellphones, etc. was laughable. Enough so that he was actually laughing as he stretched out on the blanket, enjoying the sun and glad he had remember his sunglasses today. This was way better than when the weather had been all gloomy. Sun and picnics went together far better than rain did.
