It wasn't spoken but Barnabas heard the thoughts. He doubted that any of them would ever be able to say it enough after the years they'd lost. Diana seemed to have made it her personal goal in life to make sure that they were all fully aware of how much she adored them. Barnabas would've as well if it wasn't for the fact that he just went and forgot. On accident. "We know you love us, Cheila," he assured her. "And we all love you just as much." It was true. It couldn't not be true. Barnabas didn't know if he could tell which of the Elias children were the sweetest, but Cheila was definitely one of them.
"Thank you for having lunch with me." His mind was beginning to wander and he couldn't really recall what she'd only just been talking about. Looking into her mind didn't help much either, not with how his thoughts were beginning to whirl and meld. This must have been what going mad felt like. He didn't like it all that very much. But nor did he want to be around others when it happened. "I'm sorry, Cheila, could you remind me where my room is?" He'd forgotten. Again.
