"Of course you didn't cause offense." Amelia laughed, her nervousness leaving her. This woman was quite a bit more polite than she expected. That thought pulled her back a notch, reminding her that she shouldn't judge people by their life situation. You could never really know how they were until you spoke to them. This person was a perfect example. "I was worried that I had caused offense to you." Amelia shook her head. It was strange how these miscommunications happened but she was thankful that this was a positive one.
The woman's response to her food offer was less surprising than the other ones. Not everyone was willing to go out on a limb to spend time with a stranger, buy them a meal and get to know them. Of course that isn't precisely what she had offered but she knew that is what would happen. The more she spoke with her the more Amelia felt like she seemed familiar. She couldn't help but want to treat her to a meal. "It's absolutely not an inconvenience." Amelia insisted. "I'm out alone and sharing lunch with someone would be great. Besides," Amelia paused, not sure how to say it. "There's something so familiar about you. It feels like it would be great to have lunch with you." She laughed, pushing the silly thoughts away. "Anyway, my name is Amelia. What's yours?"
