Who needs shelter from the sun?
Who: Rico and Winifred
Where: SO park
When: right before 2pm
With the news reports being quiet about heavy demonic activity, Winifred had decided that it would be alright for her to venture outside today. She'd been cooped up inside for the last couple days, and even though she'd had very wonderful company, there was only so much she could stand. She was used to wide open spaces, and since this place was nothing like Texas, she'd have to make do with the city's park. She'd parked her truck in the little lot and climbed out, enjoying the feel of the sun on her skin. Removing her shoes and socks, Winifred let her toes sink into the grass, missing that texture. The grass wasn't the same as the kind that grew naturally back home, but it was still nice, and Winifred started pacing her way into the park proper. Sure, she might step on something other than grass, but she didn't see any signs that said she had to have shoes on, so she considered being barefoot fair game. Looking around and up at the trees once she'd gotten closer to them, she reached out and ran her hands along the bark as she walked by.
Coming to a little bit of a clearing where the trees made a circle, Winifred walked about until she found a tree with lots of roots and limbs close to the ground. She climbed up onto one of the roots and used a branch to pull herself up into the tree. She chose one that was still pretty low so that she wouldn't get scared and sat down on it, testing if it would hold her weight. It swayed a little, but seemed to be strong enough for her to stay there, and she kicked her feet out, humming softly to herself. The scent of the trees was very pleasant and woodsy, and it made Winifred feel pretty peaceful. It wasn't the same as Texas, but for the moment, she felt calm and happy.
