Though I was focused Who: Persephone and Ulysses Where: Pond in the woods When: Early afternoon
Ulysses' head was practically ready to explode form all the information that had been stuffed into it over the past few days. Angels, demons and fae were all real. Of course he'd known that fae and demons had to have existed at some point, himself and Alexandria being living proof of that, but he'd imagined that they'd simply died out as time went on. Some had lasted longer, yes, but most had just vanished because they weren't necessary. Except that half-thought out theory that hadn't mattered had been effectively destroyed by whatever it was that this Niall something-or-other in Ireland had succeeded at doing. Opening some sort of gate so that they could all come play. Which was well and good, but Ulysses had to wonder how long demons might live. And then he had to wonder if whichever one had lent blood to Alexandria's bloodline was still around. Because if it was and demons did vengeance then he was in trouble. The chances of a demon actually caring about something so inconsequential are slim. I imagine that they have much better things to worry themselves with. That had been the end of that. For the most part. For now he'd decided that he was going to take a walk to clear his mind. Just that morning he'd finished out an auction of the second vase he'd purchased in Egypt so it wasn't as though he was slacking. He was just getting some fresh air.
And thinking.
He himself was fae-blooded. His wife, whether she lived with him or acknowledged that he still existed (her damage was enough to give everlasting testament to his existence), was demonic-blooded. So really, he needed someone of angelic descent to complete his collection. Part of him wondered if Lumi was. He'd have to ask the next time that they saw each other. She certainly seemed innocent enough to have some angel in her. But if she didn't then he'd have to find one. Angelic or maybe even a full angel. They wouldn't mix well with Alexandria or Zaviar but it wasn't like he was planning on slipping a leash about their neck to lead them around like a prize dog. Though they could be that. This is why I should've taken up magic. Maybe there's a way that you can harness one's powers... Or there was always being charming. It had worked well enough on Alexandria. Was working on Lumi. Who was to say that there wasn't an angel out there who would fall for the same thing? Ulysses may not possess the same confidence that Zaviar wore like a coat but he was pretty close and he smiled to himself as he came to the conclusion that if he found an angel he'd be able to win them over. If only for the satisfaction of having done it. See how Alexandria liked being replaced as the most valuable thing he had. One hand slipped into his pocket, toying with his phone, while the other snapped a small dead branch off a nearby tree. With a thought he levitated it and cast it towards the glittering water he could see just ahead. And the sight of the water reminded him that he would love nothing more than a good soak of his feet before heading back. Ducking under the branches that guarded the water he stepped through.
That was most definitely a naked woman... no, wait, was it? Ulysses didn't bother to hide or duck back, staring openly at the creature floating in the water. Her hair was a shade of turquoise he knew didn't occur naturally in humans and her skin was so pale it seemed like it might be translucent even though it definitely appeared to carry the same tinge as her hair. And the winning factor for non-human were the gills on her neck and the fins at her ankles. What was that?
