TIME UPDATE
DATE: Tuesday, August 11, 2009.
BIRTHDAYS: None
WEATHER: Um. Well. Haha, funny story… um… you know what, just read the events.
EVENTS: It’s a beautiful day in Scarlet Oak, and as there are no big changes or reported demon-related fatalities over the past twenty-four hours, even more locals are choosing to return to their homes. In fact, there are no cities in America that remain in a state of emergency. Demonic attacks are isolated.
Really, it starts out as a slow news day. Most local news outlets are still waiting for the prisoner transfer from SOPD, which still hasn’t happened. Later in the morning, the white house releases an official statement. The president has been advised by demonologists that they believe the claims of Niall Mag Aoidh’s coven to be true. If the angels have returned, and the ‘natural’ order has been restored, the world can expect the clusters of demonic activity to stop. Official reports state that as recently as a hundred years ago, isolated demonic attacks were a part of every day life. Considering angels were around to take care of it, it wasn’t the problem everyone associates with demonic activity now. The government has been advised to create special branches of military and law enforcement to deal with daily demonic activity – though nothing is official yet. For now, people are being advised to go on with their lives as they would regularly, albeit with caution. If possible, people are encouraged to have their houses blessed, regardless of religious affiliation. Reports state that there have been no demonic attacks on personal residences that were blessed within the last year.
So, everybody’s talking about angels. News agencies around the world are offering big bucks for proof of angels on earth, and as people go back to their homes and jobs, angels are certainly dominating conversation.
And then something really weird happens. Shortly after 2 PM, it starts snowing at Scarlet Oak Community Park.
That’s right. Snowing.
The weather is still warm, and there’s barely a cloud in the sky. Shortly before 2 PM, clouds begin forming over the park. And then – snow. Big, fat, fluffy snowflakes. In August. Michigan is a state well accustomed to Trick or Treating or even Easter egg hunts in snow pants, but this is… bwuh?
The snow lasts for a little over an hour and a half – just long enough to attract a crowd and press – and after coating the park in a layer of snow, it all melts by 5 PM. No one knows how it happened – even a master air elemental couldn’t pull this one off – but any fae would recognize the work of one of their own. Show-offs.
If you have something you feel warrants a mention in the next time update, please let the mods know!
