So, I'm having trouble with IJ. And instead of just making a post asking hey guys, if I leave a tag smack me? I thought I'd just combine this with a meme-question thing.

Because it's fun. Or something like that.

Anyway it's just a question - what's the story behind your character(s)'s username? What made you pick it? Did you have a runner up idea?

Pretty much anything goes :D



[info]still_lotte - Lotte’s is really easy O_O Raoul at his most childhood-sweetheart level thinks of Christine as the Lotte. So she still is Lotte ... It's incredibly lame.

[info]sentinelstar - Luther’s is a direct rip off from his main song in the musical Stars. Because it's love. And I liked the alliteration.

[info]onestepcloser - Derek’s song is also from his musical… One Step Closer is one of Eric’s solo’s and it’s a really adorkable song. As a whole. (Clip is part of the song, but the best quality I could find.) But not fitting Derek and he is…trying to get one step closer anyway. And I was lacking inspiration at the time.

[info]sultana - Joss’s was a struggle as I wanted the proper term for a Sultan’s Daughter and couldn’t find it. I went with ‘Sultana’ as I was rereading POTO at the time sometimes the daughter became the Sultan’s wife >.> As in her prince, thief, whatever guy became the sultan >.> Or I could have just fudged it. YOU'LL NEVER KNOW

[info]wickedwicker - Joanie's last name is Wicker. I was originally going to do something with witches, but I put Wicked and Wicker together in my head and was like "HEY IT WORKS." It combines her premade with her. Hooray.

[info]dwagonslayer - This was kind of a joke in my head. I knew Diego needed something a little out there, and of course as an adventurer and tall tale teller he's all about slaying dragons and rescuing wenches and stuff. So originally he was going to be "dragonslayer," but that was taken. On a whim, I replaced the "r" with a "w" to see if that was open. It was. It made me laugh hysterically and that's the end of that.

[info]sneakingaround - Archer's name is kind of a lazy one. There's a song by Theory of a Deadman called "Invisible Man," and though it isn't about the Invisible Man at all, it's pretty damn catchy. And the chorus has a line that goes "You've got me sneaking around like the Invisible Man." Thus, "sneakingaround" for Archer.

Actually, it was totally random! Gray gave me the idea of naming her Joanie, and I thought "well what would go with Joanie?" And somehow Wicker got in my head, and I was like "Damn that sounds good!" XD I am so refined.

I DON'T KNOW! I was angsting about what to name my Wicked Witch and right off the bat, she said "How about Joanie?" She is a GOD of names, I swear. It's just a cool name, I guess? XD

[info]dierache The German term for 'vengeance.' It ties in with Jonathan's backstory of jealousy toward people with better luck in life, and 'rache' is an infamous clue in the first Sherlock Holmes story, 'A Study In Scarlet.' Moriarty is also big on vengeance-it's the reason he wrestles Holmes into a waterfall, after all. :D

[info]nobleblood - Because... well, Vlad comes from a long line of nobility, which would mean he literally has 'noble blood'. Yeah, lame, I know.

[info]blackcatsrbad - Well, Cole is superstitious and a spaz, and one of the most popular superstitions out there is that black cats are bad luck. XD

[info]noglass_slipper - Because Hannah's backstory is no fairy tale, and she doesn't quite believe in 'happily ever after'. Thus, there's no 'glass slipper' like the one which basically turned Cinderella into a princess.

[info]lemortvivant - Taken right from POTO, actually, since it's mentioned that Erik was known as le mort vivant (the living dead) when he was with the Gypsies.

[info]deductively- Holmes = the king of deductive reasoning. I simply tried variations until I found one I liked/wasn't taken.

[info]longcon - Pretty self explanatory! The long con is pretty much a universal name for any cons that play out over extended periods of time. IDK why, but I just really liked it for Christian.
