Theodore read Julian's letter again even though the paper shook slightly from the trembling of his fingers. He'd already read it so many times through that he was amazed the paper didn't show the tracks from his eyes running over the lines. Feeling giddy, he took out a sheet of paper to write back, but there was so much he wanted to say. So many thoughts and feelings and he couldn't get them onto the paper in any kind of sense.

He checked his appearance, smoothed his hair and his clothes then did something so bold that a month ago he never would have dreamed it. Theodore walked through town to Julian's house and knocked on the door, a boquet of small, fragrant, deep blue flowers in his hand. He had no clue what they were.

	When Julian opened the front door he had on magnifying goggles covering half his face. There was soot around what wasn't covered by the goggles and he was only in his shirt sleeves. He stared at Theo for a moment before pulling off the goggles and laughing, "Theodore! Hello. Did I forget something? How are you?" (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Despite the soot and the goggles, Theodore thought Julian looked wonderful. "I got your letter," he said softly. Grinning back, he pulled out a handkerchief and wiped Julian's mouth before kissing him. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	His fingers gripped Julian's sooty shirt without thought as Julian returned it. "I tried to write back, but everything kept getting all tangled and since you mentioned that I hadn't been to see your home. I thought instead of writing, I'd come by." 	"A very small one," he said almost pouting, going into the kitchen and flipping a lever that tickled the hen into laying, the egg rolling down a complicated lever system and into the frying pan above the stove that had been lit by a match the rolling egg had flipped and started the bread to toasting. 	"For you," he smiled. "I couldn't make an invention like this that would start breakfast." He looked at it again then walked over and kissed Julian lightly. "Are you okay?"
