Who: Sophie Hall worthtelling and Charlie Wyman neverdoubtilove
What: Balcony scene
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: Sophie's balcony and below.
Sophie felt bad for running off after Claire had read her letter, but she couldn't help it. How could she even say she wrote that letter? The the letter, Sophie had urged Claire to take a chance and seize the love that she had for Lorenzo. She had done so, and they had a beautiful wedding. But Sophie couldn't do the same thing. If she had told Charlie how she felt last time she had been in Italy, she wouldn't have been too late. But instead, Sophie went to the wedding single and Charlie went with his ex-girlfriend, and apparently girlfriend again, Patricia. It wasn't fair.
She hadn't been sure where she was going when she'd run off, but it didn't matter because before she'd gotten anywhere, she disappeared to wherever this was. In the middle of a storm, no less. Her dress for the wedding had been drenched, and was still hanging over a chair in her room to dry.
Since the rain had let up, finally, the night before, Sophie stepped outside onto the balcony and leaned over the railing, looking out toward the beach. It was beautiful here, there was no doubt about that. But it wasn't Italy and Charlie wasn't there.
God, why did she have to find love, real love, only to lose it?
