Who: Damon and Caroline (darkcrow and awkwardsubtext); open to other housemates later in the thread
What: Damon awakens from his coma
When: Wednesday afternoon
Where: His room, their house
Damon was lost. It was dark and he was standing alone. He could feel the emptiness around him, could sense that there was nothing here but him. But he kept hearing her voice. Caroline's. She was talking to him. Being sweet sometimes, other times threatening him. He chuckled to himself softly. If only she knew that he would come back to her if he could. But he supposed this was his punishment - this was a sort of hell for him, for all the bad things he had done. He would accept it, if only just for the bad things he had done to her. He didn't deserve her.
He had been roaming this forsaken darkness forever, it seemed. There was a mist in the air that clung to him like a cloak, and he shivered from it. Vampires weren't supposed to feel the cold, but he did. It went right to his bones. He would have given up finding a way out altogether, if it weren't for Caroline. And he could even sometimes hear Damon and Elena - two of them if he weren't mistaken - griping at him to bring his ass back to them, or else. He didn't know what the 'or else' would be, since he was currently suffering. Not only from being in this place and away from her, but from hunger. From guilt. From shame. All of his sins were laid bare for him to see. He had relived all of the atrocities in his life over and over. Today, though, he was alone. Nothing to relive, it seemed.
And he could hear Caroline no more. Was she giving up finally? He wondered why she even cared... why had she stayed and talked to him?
He felt something then... something magical. It tugged at his heart. The area where he was standing grew lighter, and he looked down at himself - clad in black, as usual. Even in his dreams he was a dark crow. He could feel the tugging at his heart and looked there, but saw nothing. The light was growing brighter, nearly blinding. He felt as if he were struck by lightening, which knocked him on his backside. He groaned, wincing. When he opened his eyes, it was to find himself in a soft bed, surrounded by pillows. Caroline was above him, kissing his lips. He could feel it all, see it all... he was back. He gasped softly, returning her kiss, wondering if she had been meaning to give him a kiss goodbye when she had awoken him from his hell. She was his saviour.
