Tonks beamed back. She had been standing on the other side of the sofa, and moved around it to meet him. The toe of her shoe caught on the end table leg and sent the lamp teetering, then crashing to the ground. She managed to stop herself from falling by landing against his chest. Always the clumsy one. She would never rid herself of it, and Remus of any age would know it, apparently.
"I am so sorry," she said, her cheeks turning the color of her hair as she gently pushed off from him. A flourish of her wand righted the table and lamp, piecing it back together good as new. "I am a terrible clutz." It was the truth, and better he be prepared if they were going out on the town.
She gave him a quick once over, trying to push the embarrassment and nervousness away with a feeble smile. "You look nice," she offered.
