Elena could hardly believe she'd worked up the gall to ask him to meet her there, in the same exact place she'd found him when he'd found out about what his mother had done. The location had seemed appropriate even so. It was a private place she associated with him, their place, if you will. Elena hadn't come bearing cookies this time, however.

She let her back slide down the wall until she reached the floor, leaning against the wall with a soft sigh. She supposed this was the easiest way. If he didn't mean what he had said, he wouldn't have to tell her to her face, and she wouldn't have to look him in the eye when he explained he had made an awful mistake.

Seconds ticked by painfully slowly, leaving Elena to glance at her watch every two minutes. Five minutes. Ten minutes. Fifteen minutes. What was she doing here? He wasn't coming. Heaving herself up to her feet, Elena adjusted her clothes to leave.

Jacob had paced for a good 15 minutes wondering what he should say, while he'd gone running through the castle out to the grounds. The Greenhouse... the place that he'd always gone to be alone. And he'd let Elena in on that, and now she was using it for herself now. Letting him come to see her if he wanted. If what he said was true.

He was panting trying to catch his breath as he ran through the cold grounds to the greenhouses, and he made inside the abandoned one. "Elena!" he said hoping she was still there, and he came in just in time to see her standing. "Good... you're still here."

Whirling around at the sound of his voice, Elena stared at Jacob with widened eyes. He'd... showed up. Late, sure, but he was there, out of breath and somehow as charming as ever.

"Yeah, I'm still here," she answered, offering a slightly sheepish smile. Her question now was not whether or not she was going to meet him at all but whether or not he was going to confirm what he had said over the journals or deny it. If he had come all the way out here just to tell her he'd made a mistake and use the horrendous term 'just friends', she wasn't entirely sure what she would do. Run away, maybe, though that probably wouldn't help things much.

"Good, good..." Jacob said trying to catch his breath. "I'm sorry if I kept you waiting," he said moving further into the Greenhouse. "Please Elena, you got to believe me that I didn't want to hurt you," he started off, though he was sure that wasn't what she wanted to here. "But... I'm not sorry it happened. I've been so self-absorbed lately with my own problems, taking advantage of your friendship... I should have said something. Done something! Maybe the situation had been exaggerated..." Jacob said trailing off for a bit not sure if he should continue. "I- fancy you Elena. My life has gone to hell, and you're the only thing that's made anything worth while to me."

Elena, in all honesty, didn't think that Jacob had meant to hurt her. After all, he hadn't been able to control his actions. She wasn't upset with him so much as upset with herself for opening up to someone whose feelings weren't genuinely returned.

Or so she'd thought until Jacob blurted out his next few sentences.

Temporarily stunned, Elena stared at him for a moment, before hesitantly taking the few short steps it took to stand before him. "No one's... ever said anything like that to me before," she murmured, cheeks flushing slightly with the admission.

All Jake could do now really was take a breath of relief to have that all out in the open now. He even smiled when he saw Elena blush and she stepped closer to him. He reached out to take hold of her hands. "First time for everything, right?" he said chuckling a bit.

He was quiet just watching her for a moment. "Were you... serious, when you said that I meant a lot to you too?" Jake asked making sure that he wasn't confessing for nothing.

She let out a small laugh to match his, her hands resting comfortably in his. "I was," she answered, offering a slightly nervous smile. "That's why I got so upset when I found out it was only because you were under a potion. And then you kissed me, and I thought you didn't even want to and-" She cut herself off, nervous smile returning. No need to reveal that he was only the second boy she'd ever kissed. Definitely no need for that.

	Jacob blushed and did feel guilty for what happened between them while he was under the potion. He let go of one of her hands in order to move it over her cheek. "I may have been under a potion then, but that doesn't mean I didn't want to kiss you." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Elena felt her heartrate shoot up at his words. It was one thing to see it in the journals, but to hear it out loud (knowing he was in his right mind) was an entirely different experience, and it made her both excited and nervous at the same time. 	"Nope. I wanted to kiss you long before that, I just never had the nerve..." Jacob said shrugging sheepishly. "You didn't mind me kissing you thought... right? Not when you thought I was in my right mind..." he asked. He should have just kissed her then by he was hesitating. He also wanted to ask her to the ball, but he wasn't sure how to bring that up. 	Elena was surprised at his confession. She had never thought of Jacob as the sort who had any kind of trouble working up the nerve to do anything. He always seemed so confident and carefree. It was hard to imagine him being nervous about something. Her cheeks flushed pink with his question. "No," she answered softly. "It was... nice." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"I thought it was... nice too," Jacob said smiling getting a bit more of his confidence back. Elena had become so important to him in a short amount of time, he just didn't want to ruin it by acting so casually.

"I like being with you Elena. I always feel like everything is alright when I'm around you. That I don't have to worry about the shite going on..." he said. Not the most romantic thing to say but it was the truth. "So that's why... I was also wondering, if you wanted to go to the ball with me?"

Elena let out a small, nervous laugh. He had enjoyed it? Seeing as he was only the second boy she'd ever kissed (Phoenix was the first back in her fourth year) Elena had no idea if she was a bad kisser or not. Not to mention the fact that she didn't know how experienced he was. If his looks said anything, he probably had a lot more experience than she did. It was a relief to hear.

"Of course," she replied, grinning broadly. She was beginning to feel almost... giddy. "I'd love to go with you Jacob." And somehow, she knew it wasn't the same as the past ball had been.
