Fred, gaze covered by the most recent Quibbler, had made his way out to the landing. He placed himself down on a log to read. He was partially covered with leaves, the picture place if he was planning to spy on someone.

Mostly, he just didn't want anyone finding him. Half the school had seemed depressed and ball crazy lately. Truth be told, Fred didn't care much about the dance. He showed interest because it was important to Alyssa.

Fred stopped for a moment and looked back at Calli, "Maybe one of these days we'll be able to have a conversation without me wanting to snog you. Next time, I'll try to find out exactly what I have to do to see you smile." With a wink, he was gone.
