Who: Wood children! (Oliver Jr, Jacob, Piper, Porter)
What: Family time?
Where: Home
When: Christmas hols
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

It had been a strange holiday for Oliver. With his Mum living elsewhere it hadn't felt quite like Christmas, and the cheer had been at a considerably lower level than years previous. It was hard, after all, to celebrate knowing that your family was falling apart, no matter how hard you were trying to keep it together.

He knew it had been hard on his younger siblings, so he had made an extra effort to seem spirited- extra decorations were put up all over the house; he'd even managed to bake some cookies without catching the house on fire.

Said baked goods were currently being pulled out of the oven, being eyed warily but the eldest of the Wood siblings. Hesitantly, he reached out to poke one of them, sighing as it squished beneath his fingertip. "Is it supposed to do that?"

Nothing like a depressing Christmas to make Porter's spirits really down. But he tried his best to be happy, for the rest of the family. He only tried to cheer his father up when he really seemed to need it, steering clear of him when he seemed like he wanted to be alone. Poor Piper was so depressed, and when Jacob finally came home, he wasn't exactly the happiest of the family. Understandable.

But Porter still tried to be as optimistic as he could. Walking into the kitchen, because the smell of cookies called to him, he found his big brother making them. That couldn't be a good thing. But Porter still grinned, walking towards the tray he was pulling out.

"Squishy cokies are the best!" he said, grabbing at one. "OW. Hot!" Porter pouted, pulling his hand back. "I'm getting milk." He spun around on his heels, walking over to the fridge. "Want some?"

Jacob knew that his own mood was probably bringing the rest of the family down, but really he couldn't help it. This wasn't something that was going to go away easily, knowing that his life had been completely changed. Knowing he had a separate biological family elsewhere... and his Dad wasn't really his father.

But he's tried his best to put on a brave face. Jacob kept finding though that all he wanted to do was to go out and see Elena... she was the only one who could help him forget. Jacob made his way too the kitchen when he smelled cookies, since... that was utterly confusing. Piper had been way too mopey to try anything like that so who..?

He got to the kitchen in time to see Porter burning himself. "Nice one, shorty," he said smirking before walking over to the stove where his other brother stood. He arched an eyebrow looking at the cookies and then the Oliver. "Since when were you domestic?" he asked. Since their mother was gone, and with the exception of Piper... there was really a distinctive male presence in the house now. They really were a wreck, just no one wanted to admit it.

Piper, to say the least had been pretty much heartbroken. After going to see Tony, she got home and pretty much locked herself in her room. If she left the house she'd go and fly around. She didn't really talk to anyone, she might have had three or four words with her father. She couldn't exactly tell him that she was dating a Flint when all the news came out. That would just remind him of how much she as like Katie. Piper was the most like her mother, she looked a lot like her as well. It didn't help that she was the only girl, in some ways she would always be compared to her. It figured really, that she'd be the biggest reminder of their mother around the house. So she kept herself locked away. She wasn't going to try and cheer anyone up. She didn't talk to Jacob or Ollie much, she didn't even really bother talking to Porter much either. Although Porter always seemed to know exactly how she was feeling.

She was getting ready to go out for a run when she smelled something sweet, and heard her brothers voices. She sighed trying to debate if she should go talk to them or if she should just leave them alone for 'guy time' or whatever... But she'd have to walk past them to get out. She knew they wouldn't let her go.

Kicking off her shoes and putting them against the wall to grab later she walked slowly into the kitchen crossing her arms looking at them all like they were crazy. "Is that even edible." She commented catching on that Ollie was the one that had been cooking.

"Oi. They're definitely edible!" Oliver exclaimed, sounding offended at his sister's accusation. "I'll have you lot know I'm perfectly capable of making baked goods! It's not like it's some sort of science!" He'd followed the instructions word for word. How bad could they be?

"It says to take them out before they look like they're done!" he insisted, displaying the page for all to see.

Porter had been retrieving the jug of milk from the fridge when his remaining two siblings walked into the room. "They're edible if they weren't hot as bloody hell," he muttered, letting the door slam behind him as he walked to the cabinet with the jug in hand. "And I am not short," he shot back at Jacob, sticking his tongue out at him.

Opening one of the cabinets, he grabbed two cups. "Anyone else having milk?" He began pouring a glass for himself. "Those better be done soon because I want cookies. Now." He grinned at his sister. "Hi Pipe."

"Are too," Jacob said smirking back at Porter as he reached to get a cookie for himself. He was a lot more careful than Porter, to try and not burn himself. "Get me some milk, would you Port?" he asked turning to lean against the counter next to the stove. "Ollie, cooking is a sort of science. It's practically Chemistry. Potions in solid form," Jacob said correctly his older brother.

He took a bite of the cookie and looked up at Piper. "They're not bad. You should have one Piper," Jake suggested. He felt bad for his sister really. She was the only one arguably that could be just as upset about this as he was. Though Jacob still figured Piper was better off without another Flint in her life... Having a brother for one was bad enough.
