Nicole had always appreciated the library's silence. It was such a good contrast to the loud calls and cheers of the Quidditch Pitch, which set a barrier between the two lives she led. The geek and the seeker. Even to her, it seemed like clashing worlds, though with proper planning she'd managed to balance these two careers and do well in both.

She was looking for a good read when she'd spotted a familiar dark-haired Ravenclaw. He was studying again, which wasn't a real surprise, though it did leave her wondering how he was when there wasn't a book within reach. She neared him, sneaking up behind him. "Will I ever see you not studying, Weasley?" she whispered close to his ear, moving behind his seat. She eyed the quills on the table and started putting them on his hair, one by one with a smile on her face. "So, so serious..."

"Hi Hugo." Nicole greeted back, smiling down at him. She cocked her head to the side, her long black hair cascading down her shoulders, as she looked at him, her fingers still decorating his hair. "Putting your quills in your hair." She pulled a chair beside him and took a seat. "What are you studying about?" she asked distractedly, trying to make the quills stay, though Hugo'[s hair was quite soft so some wouldn't stay. "Need I remind you we don't have too much to worry about? We're at year 6, mate. Have you forgotten?"

Hugo was still blushing. Not that he really minded Nicole paying attention to him... because she was really nice. And had a pretty smile. But Hugo told himself not to think like that right now. He knew what happened the last time he started to think like that... it only lead to trouble. "Why are you putting quills in my hair?" he asked genuinely curious. Though it was nice feeling her hands in his hair. "I was studying Potions," he said when she asked. "I remember we're in grade 6. But it's never too early to be prepared."

"Psh. Prepared." Nicole said dismissively, as she finally finished with her small masterpiece and sat back to admire it with a small smile. "Admit it, you have a problem. An addiction to studying..." she too a few quills and put them on her hair, too so he didn't feel too embarrassed to have them on his head. From where she sat, he looked positively cute. Like a little lost bird. "And well, I think it looks adorable. And is smart, so you never lose your quills. Don't you think it's smart?" she was acting just a touch silly, though she hardly noticed. Shy little Hugo just brought out that side of her.

"There isn't anything wrong with being prepared," Hugo said in his weak defense of it. He couldn't understand why people had to put him down for his study habits. He wasn't really smart automatically, he needed to learn the things he knew... And Hugo was just confused why the quills were going in her hair. "I'm not addicted," he said and he saw that Nicole put quills in her hair too. "Adorable?" he said in disbelief. "I suppose I wouldn't lose it if it was kept that close... but I don't usually lose them."

"I never said it was wrong." Nicole pointed out when she saw Hugo being defensive. "I like studying, too, although sometimes I foudn it's a good thing to stay away from it for a while. It's relaxing, not cramming so much information in your brain all at once..." She sat back and balanced her chair on its hind legs, taking another quill and brushing it over her cheeks. "Usually, I play when I don't study. Take a few laps around the pitch, practice with a snitch." She looked at him. "What do you do when you're not studying, Weasley?" Other than sulk over girls...

"I'm not really doing it all at once... I was just studying transfiguration today. And I'm only doing a few topics.." Hugo said trying to defend himself again but stopped himself. "Maybe you're right. I could slow up a bit..." he said smiling as he looked to Nicole who was brushing her cheek with a quill. "I usually play chess when I'm not studying. Or I spend time with my cousins or other friends," he said when she asked what he did.

Nicole shook her head and clicked her tongue. "The point of unwinding is taking your mind off of strenuous thinking activities." she explained, standing and moving to the back on his seat. With surprising strength none would think her small frame capable, Nicole pulled and lifted Hugo to his feet. "We need to make you forget about studying right now." she told him. Though they're not close at all, and have only spoken for a few times before, Nicole already felt a sort of connection with the boy. She wondered if everyone felt that way about him, if everyone was as easily gravitated towards him as she was.

She took his hand and led him from his books and things. "What should we do, what should we do..." she looked around, eyes scanning the shelves and sitting areas they passed. "Ok. what's the one thing you would never do in the library, Weasley?"

Hugo supposed that a lot of the things he did when he wasn't studying were... things that still required him to do a lot of thinking. He looked at Nicole to see what she was doing and was quite surprised when she suddenly pulled him up and out of his seat. It was true they hadn't hung out together a lot but... Hugo felt that they could be friends already.

He let her drag him off, though he had no idea what they were doing. "I don't know... I figured you had an idea," he said when she was wondering out loud about what they should do. "The one thing... well there are a few things I'd never do in the library," Hugo said but he stopped to come up with something to say before Nicole thought him foolish. "Well... I'd never destroy and books. Or leave them out even. I'd want it to be organized."

Nicole had a positively devious grin as she heard Hugo's answer. "Really now?" she asked, then turned in place, their hands still linked in the space between them. "Does it bother you when it's not organized?" she asked, walking backwards and uncaringly knocked down a few books from the shelf she passed. She moved quickly and pulled him along, not letting him fix them. "Your turn!" she said before raising their hands and used his hand to knock down a few books himself. Now, that made too much noise. Giggling, she pulled him along when she'd heard the librarian stalking down the corridor...

Hugo's eyes went wide when he saw her knock the books over. "What are you doing?" he asked when she knocked it over. She was just taking what he said and did the opposite.. and then, she took his hand to knock over some more. And that was making more noise. "What... but...! We're going to get in trouble!" Hugo said as he followed after her quickly when they went farther, trying to get away from the librarian.

Nicole was having such a good time, taking much amusement from breaking the rules as much as she did in shaking up Hugo a bit. She won't get him in trouble, she was sure of it. She moved far too fast for her to be caught doing anything. When Hugo started whispering fiercely to her, she placed a hand over his lips- his surprisingly soft lips- and gestured for him to stay quiet before she knocked over a few more books and made a mad dash for the restricted section.

"Shhh.." she told him as the librarian passed them by, pressing him against the wall with her hand still over his lips. When they were safe, she smiled at him and nudged him playfully. "Come on. Laugh. We didn't get into trouble. It was fun! Did you see her face?"

Hugo stopped when he felt Nicole's hand move over his mouth. He thought they'd be hiding or something from the librarian but then he stared wide eyed when she was just knocking over more books. It had been... funny but he also felt sort of horrified at the same time. But Hugo still followed after her... fighting the urge to clean up the mess, since he also didn't want to get caught and banned from the library.

And then they were hiding in the restricted section! How much worse could it get? But then seemed to be forgotten when he felt Nicole lean in close. and feeling her hand on his lips still. He'd seen the librarian go by too... but thankfully she didn't see them. He did smile when the hand moved away from his lips, and he let a chuckle out. This was really just... crazy. "It was sort of... exhilarating."

Exhilarating? Now, that was what she wanted to hear! Laughing breathlessly, Nicole patted his cheek and pushed herself off of him. "Good." she said. "You need to loosen up more, mate. You seem like a fun guy, and you just need someone to get that fun side of you out." She would like to tell him she'd very much volunteer if he'd only let her, though didn't. She didn't know him, and he didn't know her, though she felt like some part of her wanted to. "What else haven't you done in the library?" she asked, grinning, raising her brows at him.

"I've been told that before," Hugo said sheepishly, about having to loosen up. His family in particular had complained about how he was always acting so responsibly and never had any fun. But he could have fun... and it really did depend on who he was hanging around with. And Nicole really did seem like someone he could have fun with. "Well... I suppose everything that's against the rules in the library," Hugo said. He was worried about mentioning anything he really really didn't want to do in case they got in trouble. "I've never pranked any of those... annoying 4th years who only gossip about boys and interrupt my studying."

Getting back at fourth years, hm? With a devious smile, Nic took him by the wrist again and led him down a few corridors. She paused and pretended they were a couple just holding hands and looking at books when they passed by the seemingly irritated librarian, before they ran down a few more corridors in search of those little kids who interrupted Hugo. He needed this release she found, so she was going to go help him get it.

And then she spotted a good group. A bunch of girls exchanging fierce whispers near the table Hugo had occupied. With a small smile, Nic took out her wand and made the ink bottle in the middle of their table explode. They gasped and stood, flapping their hands in front of their faces, not knowing what they could do.

Nic hid behind the shelf, pulling Hugo with her and giggled behind her hand. "Did you see that??!" she whispered. "Was the what you had in mind?"

Hugo had mentioned it... since it was really something he would like to do, but never did. He'd made the mistake with the books, but it didn't really hurt anyone so he was okay with that. So he followed Nicole till they got to where the table was with the giggling girls.

He didn't really know what to do for pranks... but Nicole seemed to have something in mind. So he stood by and watched, as she made the ink bottle explode and Hugo was gaping in surprise.

He didn't stand there long since Nicole pulled them back into hiding. Hugo chuckled himself, looking back at the panicking girls. "Not quite... but it was better than what I would have come up with."

Nicole could barely contain her giggles. They escaped her, even though she didn't want them to, which she saw after taking a peak through the shelves that one of the girls had heard her. Acting without really thinking, she took Hugo by the waist and turned them so she could be against the shelf, with Hugo so close before her. It was like they were doing something they shouldn't in the library...

And it was just in time! The girl appeared at the other end of the shelf, looking quite enraged, still with ink on her face. Nic shot her a glare like she'd interrupted something she shouldn't. After the girl had seen the seen wasn't the one she thought it was, she moved on to the next in search for the people who made their ink bottle explode.

When she was gone, her giggles were back though this time she tried very hard to keep them quiet, barely noticed what sort of position she'd left both of them in...

Hugo was concerned about Nicole giggling too loud. They were going to be heard, and then get caught! But just like before, Nicole tugged them quickly away into hiding again. Her arms were around his waist, and Nicole got really close... If anyone saw them and didn't know any better... well it would seem like they were snogging in the library.

And after Hugo stared wide eyed, and watched Nicole glare the girl away, the giggled came back. Nicole really did giggle a lot. It wasn't bad though. In fact Hugo liked the sound of her laugh. And she was still close to him, and he could feel her movements against his chest as she laughed.

Nicole breathe a sigh of relief when the girls finally let them be, glad that they had bought what act she'd initiated. And Hugo seemed to act the part, evn though it's not direct. She looked up at him and candidly found herself admiring the soft contours of his face. Quite a handsome young chap he was, she found and from where she stood so close she could almost count every strand of his enviable ling lashes.
His eyes were so nice, too, the sort that gave a reflection of how he was: gentle and nice...

"Good acting." Nic praised, smiling up at him, nudging him playfully. "I think they bought it. Doesn't it feel feel good to take a break from studying once in a while?" Though at the back of her mind she knew she was supposed to be studying as well, she thought she preferred this much more.

Hugo was relieved too when the girls left them along, but that still didn't let all of his anxiety leave. Especially because he was hiding behind a shelf... with a girl... who was really, really close. And pretty. And very intimidating at times... but especially pretty.

And she was looking at him, and the look on her face made Hugo very curious as to what she was thinking. But Hugo couldn't look away. So he noticed things about how soft her cheeks looked... and her pretty eyes, and those lips- he couldn't stop looking at them.

"Th-thanks," Hugo said when she praised him about his not so good acting ability. At least she was being nice. He rubbed his hand over where she nudged him. "Yeah... it's good. Thinking about not getting caught instead of notes is definitely a change," he said with a careful laugh.

A quick look at clock at the clock on the wall to her right told her that play time needed to be over. Of course, she didn't want to, not when everything just got so interesting. Though part of her knew she had tons of paperwork to do now, and not a lot of time to do them. Always the crammer, she was.

"This has been fun, Hugo." Nic said, very gently moving away from him as she started walking backwards, down the aisle. "Let's do this again sometime, hm?" she said, and winked before disappearing down the hall, and out of the library with a grin on her features.
