WHO. Dominique and You! (OPEN)
WHAT. Honestly, she's up for anything.
WHERE. Starting at her favorite tree by the lake.
WHEN. Mid-afternoon
RATING. ?
STATUS. Open/Incomplete

Ever since she had returned to England it was as if something had switched in Dominique. She was fidgety, restless, and couldn't concentrate on classes. She was usually this way at the approach of spring, a season that she felt always held a lot of good things for her, and therefore only the promise of good things to come. However people were beginning to study for exams and her usual company was hard to come by for some reason. All of these reasons led her to grab her books and march outside the castle to her favorite spot.

She was bundled up still due to the cold Scottish March day, but she was glad she was sitting on newcoming grass and not crunchy snow. An hour passed as she scribbled about some essay or read some notes. At least being outside made it somewhat easier. As her quill caught and the ink in it spread across the last paragraph on the page, she let out an exasperated, "For Merlin's sake... Oh, bugger all!"

There was a desperate feeling in Dominique for something new or action of some sort.

John was, of course, not studying on what he considered to be a beautiful March afternoon. The snow was gone, which meant he was headed out, if not for quidditch, then for a walk to clear his head of all the coursework he hadn't been digesting.

He spotted the familiar head of blonde hair easily, the scratching of her quill not exactly music to his ears. Everyone had gotten so tense lately, but exams were still months away! Three months was entirely too much time to be fretting already.

He was in the midst of approaching her when he heard her disgruntled exclamation, and chuckled to himself. "Rough day?" he asked, quirking a brow down at her and her ruined parchment.

Dominique looked up and saw John, smirk and all. She shook her head, and crumpled up the now useless piece of parchment. "Can you be sick of N.E.W.T.s and everything that entails in March? All anyone is doing is studying for them which means I have nothing to do but study for them."

She put her books in her bag, and stood up, so that she didn't have to crane upwards. Which, really didn't work that well. He was quite a bit taller than her at any rate.

"And I really want to be doing anything but studying right now. What are you off to?"

"NEWTs?" he asked, as if he'd never heard of such a thing. "What're those?" He probably did about as much work for them as someone who had never heard of them before, to be perfectly honest.

"I'm heading nowhere, actually." He grinned down at her, that lopsided smile of his. "You can join me if you like. I can't promise you'll learn anything useful, though, miss study-all-day."

She cracked a genuine smile at his joke. "Now that's the attitude I'm looking for." She threw her bag over her shoulder.Making a slight noise, Dominique added, "Oh, please... do not call me that. Nowhere sounds pretty good."

In her mind nowhere meant walking around a bit, therefore she took the first few steps. "So no more pogrebin prob--" she stopped, looking at the little shed in the hilly distance very near the Quidditch pitch.

"You know, flying could be fun."

It was nice to hear someone else shared his carefree (or careless, however you wanted to look at it) attitude for once. It got a bit old being lecture about how important the tests were going to be for the rest of his life. He knew the material, and he was a master of cramming. If he wasn't worried about his scores, they shouldn't be either.

John almost blushed at her comment- almost. Luckily, her teasing got cut off by her idea for entertainment, and John was all too glad to get off the topic of their recent embarrassing encounter. Nothing like thinking a rock is following you in front of a hot girl. "I'm always up for a fly," he answered, shrugging.

Luckily for John all thoughts of pogrebins had escaped Dominique's mind. Not that she thought it was a completely irrational fear. Pogrebins could have been transported to England for CoMC or something similar. "Brilliant," she said, her enthusiasm getting the best of her as she hastily picked up all of her things, and rose again to smile at him.

"I hope you don't mind breaking a rule or two, though," Dominique grinned a bit sheepishly. It had been a while since she'd done anything foolish. Seventeen certainly wasn't to old for that.

John liked to think his fears were more legitimate as a Muggleborn. That, and Pogrebins were stone-shaped and could easily have snuck into some unsuspecting Muggle's suitcase and then waited until they were back here to escape and eat the poor person who had brought them here!

Her sheepish smile made John laugh. "Dominique Weasley has a mischievious streak. Who knew?"

In all honesty, if pogrebins had been found commonly in England, Dominique wouldn't have found his fear funny at all. It was actually refreshing when a male admitted that he actually had a fear of something. Endearing, really. Dominique didn't like jarveys after all, and that was just because she thought ferret looking creatures that could talk were just not right.

Dominique shrugged, "Not many, I suppose, but now you do." She started leading them towards the broomshed. "I get restless, often. Just usually I can't find anyone to join me on my adventures."
