Who: John and Dominique
What: John is silly
Where: Grounds
When: Sunday
Rating: TBD

There weren't many things John would admit to being afraid of, but if there was one thing, it was pogrebins. They follow people around, infusing them with a sense of hopelessness until the human collapses, at which point the pogrebin attempts to devour them. The Pogrebin resembles a grey rock with a small hairy body and it hides by crouching down and pretending to be nothing but a harmless stone.

Normally, this wasn't much of a problem, but every once in a while, John got a bit on the paranoid side. Every once in a while, he could swear a stone had moved, that it was getting closer when he turned his head to glance at it. Today was one such occasion, and John had looked over his shoulder four times already, sure that the rock (which was, in fact, not moving at all) was staying the same distance from him no matter how far he went.

Frowning, John picked up his pace to a fast walk, and finally into a run, glancing over his shoulder one last time only to smash into something- or rather, someone. His hands instantly shot out to prevent the poor person from falling, and he found his arms around a familiar slim waist as he looked up to see her blonde hair. "Dom. Hey. Sorry," he said with an embarrassed laugh.

Dominique had gone on a bit of a walk after retrieving some of her post. She found herself easily relaxed on walks, and it allwed her to do loads of things better-- think, for example. She'd just read a letter from her grandmere talking about France and grandpere and a multitude of other things that were nice, but hadn't kept her from day dreaming a bit. She was stowed the letter in her bag, and looked up.

The second she looked up someone in front of her, and they collided. She nearly fell, until he reached out for her. She stood there for a moment, his hand on her waist. She began chuckling. "John. It's nothing to worry about."

"So, I'm going to guess you're avoiding someone? Possibly someone annoying, or angry, either way, best to avoid, I'm sure." She asked, thinking of his backward glances.

As soon as he was sure they were both stable, John released his grasp on her waist, and his hand to rub the back of his neck with embarrassment. "Uh. Yeah, not exactly," he answered with a soft laugh. There was really no saving his manliness now, so he figured he may as well attempt to make himself feel a bit more at ease.

"So... that... rock over there. It's not actually... moving, is it?" he asked, gesturing at the stone he had been sure was following me. It had never crossed his mind that pogrebins were found mostly in Russia and the odds of one making its way to Hogwarts were slim to none. They say fear is irrational.

Dominique's forehead crinkled at his question. "The rock?" She turned to look at it. "It looks pretty sedentary to me."

She bit her bottom lip and smiled a bit. "It's not one of those rock creatures that feeds on wizards. I can't recall what they are. I mean..." She walked over to the rock and prodded it.

"Solid, as well."
