WHO. Dora & Jackson
WHAT. Hanging out after the game.
WHERE. Grounds.
WHEN. After the game.
RATING. TBA
STATUS. Incomplete/Closed.

Nymphadora, exhilarated and flushed from commenting on the recently finished game, gathered her things together as the player retreated back to thier locker room and crowd started to file out from the stands. She exited the pitch that late afternoon on her own with her bag swung over her torso and her hands shoved to the pockets of her jeans. She knew she should have brought her gloves that day- it was stupid for her not to, really. Her hands could barely stop shaking while she commentated for her sisters' game. Good thing though that the crowd had hardly taken notice of it...

With a knitted hat with small bear ears on her dark-haired head- a gift from grandma Molly herself- she trudged the grounds that lined the lake slowly, taking her time as she viewed the breathtaking landscape that surrounded her. The lake had been frozen since the first snowfall, and the treetops were dusted with white. She could sit on the wat ground and watch this all day.

She found herself taking the spot on a rock by the edge. During the summer, her feet would dip in the water if she stayed ther, but now, her booted feet were set firmly on the frosted water. She sighed, tired. If there was one thing one would notice about her, it's the way the cold seemed to exaggerrate certain part of her features- the redness of her lips, and the blush that stained her cheeks- the harsh weather seeming to enhance her features instead of marring them. She took out a canster from her bag and quietly feasted on her chocolate milk, and suddenly her mind, as it had been in the past days, returned to a certain boy she hasn't seen since their meeting in the kitchens...

Bare hands closed around the small, warm cup of her thermos, the warmth of it a relief against her chilled skin. She brought the drink to her lips and drank the sweet chocolate, finishing the cup like a shot and refilling it immediately. It was perhaps in her concentration that she hadn't noticed the approach of another figure and did not know anyone else was there until the familiar, smooth alto of Jackson's voice greeted her from her side. She jumped momentarily, thankfully not spilling any of her drink in this breif surprise, before she whipped around and looked up at the person beside her. "Hey!" she greeted warmly, her heart beating just a little faster as she beheld the sight of him.

"Thank you, Jackie." She smiled, her cheeks blushing at the compliment, her throat hoarse from talking for the last hour or so. She coughed, disguising this discomfort. "Do you want to sit with me? You can share my cocoa with me... that is if you want to get my cooties." She scooted just a bit to make room in her small rock throne and patted the space with her cold hand. A laugh escaped her. "And hello to you to." She wondered why they hadn't seen each other in the past days, but held her tongue. No use making the subject uncomfortable so early on.

He hadn't meant to make her jump, but it couldn't be helped now. Perhaps he should have made his approach more noticeable, but again, that couldn't be helped now. He was just glad that she didn't spill her hot chocolate or anything, because that would have been messy, and could have ended up burning her, as well, and that wouldn't be good at all. He smiled at her when she greeted him, a warm, friendly smile that perhaps had a little bit more meaning behind it than a normal smile would. Maybe. He was just so happy to see her and to get such a warm greeting that he couldn't help but feel a little bit hopeful. It was in his programing or something to be hopeful when there was reason to be so.

"You're welcome," he said, sitting down beside her. "Thanks," he replied. It was nice of her to offer to share with him, and he really would like some, considering how chilly it was outside. But there was something about being outside, in the chill, that he liked, as well. It was refreshing and cleared his head. He just couldn't really explain it. "Rough that we lost," he said, sighing as he did. It would have been nice to win since it was the first match, but oh well. "Addy did really well."

It was comforting to have his presence around her again after days that she had not seen him. Jackson had an easy air around him that always left her at ease. Not once could she recall a time where she felt as if she could not be herself around him, no matter how crazy or embarrassing she could be. "You're welcome." she told him, pouring a bit more of her drink in her cup before she handed it to him. "I made that myself. The elves insited they do it, but I begged them that I do it myself." she told him, keeping her chilled hands in the pockets of her robes and keeping the thermos between her knees.

"Yeah, it's a bummer, isn't it?" she asked, her expression active despite the fact that her cheeks were almost numb from the cold. "I always feel disappointed after all that talking and my team losing. Though of course, I have to be unbiased when I comment but they know who I'm rooting for." She turned to look at him then, her eyes following the lines that drew his profile. "And of course. She's a beast out there. Everytime. She tranforms into this whole different person- one that's almost scary to be quite honest that I try not to get in her way within the next few minutes after the game..." she laughed.

He could say the same thing about Dora, really. She was able to soothe him in a way that he couldn't explain. That was one of the reasons he liked her so much. Anyone that had that kind of effect on someone had to be special, right? He took the cup willingly from her, letting the heat it put off warm his gloved hands before taking a small sip. "It's really good, though I am surprised you got them to cave. They normally don't do that very easily." The elves were pretty steadfast in their duties. He was impressed.

"Yeah, it's not the best way to end the winter term, but it could be worse. I'm glad no one was really hurt that bad...but the Ravenclaws seemed to get it pretty bad," he said, frowning. He didn't want to see anyone get hurt! Quidditch could just be so violent sometimes, though, it was hard to avoid. "Hopefully it won't be too hard for anyone to recover or anything." He knew that a lot of them were probably in the hospital wing right now, actually. "Yeah, she is. I'm with you, I avoid her for a little while. Until that glint leaves her eye. Once it does, I know it's safe to make an approach," he said, following along in her laughing and enjoying the sound of it mixing with his.

"Well, I can be very persuasive if I wanted to." Dora joked, laughing. The other good thing about being with Jackson was the fact that he always finds a way to make her laugh. In every conversation they had they were rarely serious and Dora liked that about him. "They did put up a fight though, I'll give them that. They attacked me in a pack, which scared me at first, but Dora Weasley never backs down!"

Dora had commentated in quite a lot of games that she's rarely surprised how brutal the game can be, especially since she grew up un such an environment. With cousins and uncles who weren't the gentlest of players in the Weasley family weekend games, she has come to expect the injuries. They still leave her worried and concerned though. "A few of our friends did get hurt too bad, so I suppose that's a relief? I wish people didn't have to get hurt though." she said. Unknowingly, she found herself leaning against his side, laughing with him. "And yes that crazy eyes, once it's there you should stay away if you don't want to get beaten by a bludger bat..." Dora then took her hands from her pockets and rubbed them together, then blowing on them with her wamr breath, which didn't quite help at all. "So... what have you been up to these past days?" she asked.

He laughed, scrunching up his eyebrows at the same time. "I bet you can. I have no doubts about that," he said, laughing lightly. He could see Dora now, bargaining with the elves and making them let her make her own hot chocolate. He would have liked to have been there, actually, because that would be a pretty amusing sight, he'd have to admit. "Of course they did. They are tough little blighters when they want to be. But they were obviously no match for you, the one with the power to go against a team of house elves and make it through without a lifetime supply of snacks. I would fail horribly."

He nodded his head. "Yeah, it's good that they weren't hurt too bad, but I guess getting injured is and will always be a part of quidditch. They know what they are getting into when they sign up, I guess." He didn't like that they got hurt, and he worried, and it was sometimes really horrible to watch, but that was the game. And he loved the game, even if he couldn't play it that well. "Addison is a beast with that bat, no doubt about it. Did you see what she sent towards Dante?" He'd hate to come up against her in a match, for real. "Not much," he said, shrugging. "Planning what I'm going to do over break, looking for presents, stuff like that." Thinking of you. "What about you?"

Dora laughed at his expression. Reaching up, she ran her index gently on the space between his brows to smoothen it out. "Yes, I have powers. They were no match against them. Though I did promise them I'd be visiting the kitchens every after class for the next week so to keep them happy. I think they wouldn't have agreed otherwise." she said, frowning. "Maybe..." she started. "... you could stop by, too. I mean if you're not doing anything so we could hang out. It'll make them happier to be able to serve two people."

Reaching over, she refilled the cup still in Jackson's hand. "I just wanted something that reminded me of home. Mum makes chocolate this way. I just... missed it." Her eyes then drifted to the stratch of white frozen waters before her. She wondered where the giant squid could be at this time of year... "Yes. I'm thinking of bringing her some chocolate to tame her. Good idea, hm?"

Dora listened to him speak, nodding and biting her lip. "Me?" she asked. "Well, I haven't bought any presents. Which is horrible of me, really. But I was actually planning to make cookies and pastries again like I do every year. But I don't know..." she sighed, her breath coming out of her lips as thin fog. "I was also making homework, and... thinking about you, mostly." she kept her eyes from him then, before placing the thermos beside her and drawing her legs close to her chest, arms going around them. "It's so cold, huh? Wish I bought a blanket or something..."

His heart did a little jump when she reached up and ran a finger along his forehead, smoothing out the crease in his brow. He thought it was cute that she did that. She had such a soft touch...it was hard not to be brought in by it, really. It felt so nice. He laughed at the agreement she'd had to make with the elves, though. He figured it had to be something like that. They were tricky! "Yeah sure, I'd like that. And you're right. The more the merrier, I think, for them. There is only so much sweets and treats and food that they can shower one person with, after all," he said, jumping at the chance to spend more time with her. He was thrilled to know that she didn't seem at all bothered by what had happened.

He smiled when she refilled his cup, taking a whiff of it before he took another drink of the chocolate, letting it run down his throat slowly, enjoying the feel of the heat against his throat. It felt fantastic against the cold backdrop of their surroundings. He smiled fondly over at her. "Well, I don't blame you at all for making it, then. It's the little things that you usually end up missing the most." At the mention of bringing Addison some of the chocolate, he nodded. "Yeah, that sounds like a great idea, actually. I'm sure she'll really appreciate it."

"It's not horrible of you, there is still plenty of time, really. I've not gotten much done myself, just Bianca so far. Little sisters are pretty hard to shop for, actually." He was just about to comment on her making pastries and cookies and homework when she mentioned that she'd been thinking about him and it completely threw him for a loop. "You've been thinking about me?" he asked, looking over at her. "Uh, good things, I hope? And I..yeah," he said, not really knowing how to respond. "We could accio one?" he suggested at the mention of a blanket, scooting closer to her, coming close to putting his arm around her to warm her up, so close that he actually started to but then put it quickly back down.

Dora didn't notice the way he jumped when she touched him, so she thought it was no big deal. She was a very physical person after all, not one to hiesitate in expressing her emotions through physical affection. Jackson knew she was like this, so he shouldn't really be surprised, right? When he agreed to come to the kitchens with her that coming week, she felt elated in a way she can't quite explain. "Awesome! Let's say... maybe 5 o'clock?" she arranged for them. "Just for a little snack before dinner? I don't want it to ruin our appetites for supper after all."

It was gratifying to see that he liked the chocolate she made, and she couldn't quite keep her eyes off of him when he drank. "What do you miss about home, Jackie?" she asked.

"Tell me about it. In fact, I find it hard to buy singular gifts for people I know, because gifts for my family alone would leave me in heavy debt for the a few years if I did that." She explained. Everyone knew the Weasley's were big clan, and other than that, they've have plenty of family friend, too. It was quite a huge network. She didn't change her expression however when he commented on what she'd said about thinking about him. She really didn't know why she'd admittied that to him, but to her, it just felt... natural to be open and honest with him. "Good things, of course." she assured him. There were rarely bad things she can say about him, really. At his suggestion to summon a blanket, she paused to think. "That might cause too much of a hassle." she said. "I just need to prevent my hands from freezing, I think, and I'll be fine." Her eyes then landed on his gloved hands, and her brows drew together in thought. Carefully, she took both of his hands and held them with hers. "Would you mind keeping them warm for me for just a second?" she asked.

He silently wished she had noticed, because then maybe she could see the effect that she had on him now. Before he'd told her how he felt he'd done his best to make sure that it didn't show, but now that he'd told her, he didn't see any reason to try to hide it anymore. He might be awkward about things, but he didn't want to cover up the way his body reacted to hers, either. He didn't want to cover up anything, really, but he was having trouble putting that plan into motion. It wasn't as easy as it should be. "Yeah, five sounds fantastic to me."

When she asked him what he missed about home, he didn't have to think very much. "That's pretty simple. The jam sessions that Dad and I have. Merlin, we make the house shake sometimes playing together. You throw in Bianca and Mum singing and it's just..fantastic. But a lot of the times, it's just me and Dad, writing, playing, having fun together with something that we're both really passionate about, you know? And I miss Mum. Basically everything about her. She's just...always doing something nice, you know?" He got a far off look in his eyes for a moment as he thought back to the way things were at home. It was exciting to be going home for a little while soon.

"Well, there are so many of you guys, I can't imagine anyone buying presents for that many people, especially not someone still in school. So homemade things are probably the best bet," he said with a laugh. "How many cousins do you have? Over twenty?" He was a little jealous, really, because that was amazing, having that many people in your family and being so close like all the Weasley/Potters seemed to be. He was just about to say that it would be no hassle for him at all, but when she asked to hold his hands, he nodded. "Yeah, sure," he said, placing his hands in hers slowly and rubbing the back of her hands slowly before, on an uncharacteristic move, he moved closer to her and held her close to him. "Does...does this make you feel warmer?" he ask, biting his lips, knowing how stupid that sounded.

Dora found herself smiling she she quietly listened to Jackson's answer about what he missed most about home. Dora herslef had a long list for that single question and hearing the other remember the good times he's had with his father made her miss hers all the more. She laughed and smiled when he got to talking about his mother. "I know what you mean." she said. "My mother can be... flighty sometimes. She gets lost in her research about magical creatures all too easily and she gets that glassy look in her eyes like she's in a different world of her own. But most of my memories with her, she was always doing something sweet for me, my dad and my siblings. While dad treis to make everyong laugh all the time. It's no wonder why the three of us end up like lunatics." she said. "So, have you and Bianca decided what you lot should do over the Holidays?"

"I can't answer that." She said, shaking her head. "Can't we just say 'a lot' and leave in at that? Recalling everyone's name would be such a chore!" Dora's always been in such a huge, tight-knit family that she couldn't imagine her life not being surrounded by dozens of other people her age. It was probably why there were hardly any shy people int he Weasley clan.

Dora's eyes followed the progression of Jackson's hands with her own. Initially, she read his hesitation but she was relieved to find moments later that he had easily gotten over that. It was nice, feeling how gentle he was when he handled her. She took a pause when she felt Jackson's body shift, eyes growing wide, and suddenly, she was drawn closer towards the warmth of his body. It was an unexpected, but surprisingly warm sensation that she couldn't dare move away. Letting go of his hands and slipping her own arms around his waist, she rested her head against his chest and got comfortable. "Yes, yes it does." she said, sighing. "You know... we could just go in the castle and get warm by the fire. But I have to say I kind of like this more..."

Jackson and his father shared a pretty close bond, actually. He was a lot like him in a lot of ways, and he wanted to be more like him as time passed. It was clear to him that his father was one of the best blokes on the world, and he'd be lucky to turn out more like him when he got older. Really lucky. Dora's Mum was fantastic, though, with her quirks. That was what made her so cool. She was herself, always, and Jackson could really admire that. "You're Mum is awesome like that," he said agreeing with her. "And your Dad pretty much makes the entire world laugh, which is brilliant." Dora's parents were amazing, really, because they were both so different and worked and it was just brilliant. "Well, we haven't really decided, no yet. I think she is visiting Becken, though," he said, thinking about the conversation he'd seen early. "I think she has a thing for him," he said, frowning. No one was really good enough for his sister, after all.

He laughed, nodding his head. "Yeah, if I had that many cousins and stuff I don't think I could ever answer that, either. So I can settle with a lot." Which was probably an accurate statement, anyway, considering 'a lot' was definitely closer to the real number than 'a few'. He had trouble keeping up with them, really. Sometimes he got some of them mixed up, but that wasn't that big of a deal, or so he didn't think. He wasn't the best with names anyway.

He didn't know what had come over him really. He just knew that he wanted to hug her and that if he hadn't of, he would have lost the nerve and the chance would have passed, and he'd let that happen enough already. When she seemed to like it, though, and put her head on his chest, he breathed a sigh of relief. At least she hadn't told him to stop or anything, though he still felt a little silly for just...hugging her like that. "I'm fine like this," he said, "it's comfortable. Really comfortable."

It was evident in the way Jackson seemed to animate at the mention of his father told Dora just how much he admired him. She realized she loved seeing him this way, the light in his eyes filling her a satisfyingly warm feeling akin to one she feels when she makes him laugh with one of her corny jokes. She guessed it was because she likes making him happy. "My parents are insane. But I honestly wouldn't want them any other way." she said, laughing delightedly at the memory of her parents. She herself was quite like her mother, Luna, a litte bit flighty, easily-distracted by things she enjoyed and just a little bit crazy. She admits to this without a pause. But she also fancies herself like her dad, too, when it came to making pranks.
When Jackson mentioned his sister, and the love life he suspected she has, Dora stiffled a laugh. "You don't look too pleased. Youre behving quite like my brother! Not good!" she reached up, placed her index fingers on the corners of his mouth and pushed them up to a smile. "There. Better." how she did let herself laugh to show her amusement. "You have to be happy for her. Though you think no one will ever be good enough for her- don't deny it, I know this is the way you think- you should at least be happy for her that she has found love. Be a little more positive about it, yeah?"

Dora smiled against Jackson's chest when she felt him sigh against her. What was he thinking, really? That she'll push him away and run for the Castle? Sometimes this boy can get so paranoid. "I am, too." she said, closing her eyes. Testily, she iched up just so she could bury her nose on his neck. He smelled... amazingly good to her. Though she already knew how he smelled, it was nothing quite like it was... now. After their talk in the kitchens only days before, it seemed when they were together, Dora started to notice even the smallest things about him and found new appreciation for them. "I... told Addy about... what we talked about the other day." she told him in a whisper. "I hope that's alright?"

His father was probably the one person in the world that he admired most. He was the one that had taught him how to ride a broom, a bike, and all over childhood things that people rode. He was the one that taught him the guitar and piano, the one that encouraged his pursing the musical path. He was the one that told him that the stars were his if he tried hard enough to reach them. And then his Mum, well, she was the one that kissed the scraped knees, the ones that wiped away the tears, the one that held them when they were younger when they needed them. Both of his parents had been such an influential part of his life and he couldn't imagine a life without them. He had a great deal of both of his parents in him, even if the one he resembled most was his Dad. "Exactly. They are parents, they are supposed to be a little insane. I think it's in the job description or something," he said with a laugh. "They ask for it when they sign up for it."

"Why isn't it good, though? I mean, there is nothing wrong with making sure that my sister is happy and away from stuff that can hurt her. And boys can hurt girls. Not that I think Becken will, mind you, but he could. So I need to keep an eye on them." He laughed when she fixed his face in a smile, amused at her silliness. "But she's just a kid!" he said, arguing, even though she was just a year below him. She was still a kid until he said she wasn't! Which was still a long way away! "But what if it doesn't go wrong? Blokes can be tricky. Did you know that kid has a tattoo, even?" He'd seen it before when the younger Hufflepuff had been walking around with no shirt on.

When he felt her breath on his neck, he pulled closer to her, enjoying the feel of the physical contact. He could sit like this for hours, despite the surface being hard and the air being cold. That didn't matter to him. Really all that mattered to him was that he was hugging Dora close to him and she was okay with it. That was it. When she mentioned that she'd told Addy about what had happened, he shook his head just a little bit. "Yeah, it's fine. I mean, I would have told her eventually, too, and plus you guys are twins. It's completely fine. I don't think it would be fair of me to expect you to keep it from her."

"It is." She confirmed. "When I have kids, they'll probably think the same of me. Resent me for being so weird... and for eating most of the cake... things like that." Her thoughts then lingered to her future, and a smile lit her face. She's seen herself wth a famly in her minds eye, perhaps a few kids, and a loving husband, though strangely enough the figures in her dreams have no faces. But they were there, and they were hers. She believed she'll meet them someday. "Do you ever think about the future, Jackson? Like.... do you want to be married and have kids someday?"

Dora found herself smiling sadly at his explanation. "You have to let her make her own mistakes. We learn from them. She never will if you stop her before she even gets the chance to make them." she moved closer to him, her small attempt to bring him comfort, and brushed the hair back from his forehead. "And so what if he has a tattoo of... girl's boobs on his forehead? He might really care for her. Isn't that the most important thing?"

"Good." Dora said, snuggling closer. "I've told Lily about it, too. And she said I probably just want your body..." This made her laugh a little. "Do you think I'm that superficial, Jackson? That I want nothing more than that?" she teased, pinching his side playfully.
