Elena rolled her eyes at the response of her brother in his journal, before slamming it shut rather violently, earning a few raised brows from the girls nearby. Elena ignored them, shoving her journal into her bag, before hurrying up the stairs. "Uh- you can't-"

But Elena already had her hand on the doorknob. "Cover your bits!" she shouted in warning, before flinging open the door. Ben was, of course, still in bed. He looked like absolute shit, as she had expected, and he was still wearing sweats- not his uniform like she had told him.

"Get up." She said firmly, yanking his covers off of him. "You're going to class."

"And you're far too sneaky for me." Ben was too lazy to be sneaky. Sure, he had laid on his bed in his room reading a book. Not exactly hiding it. But he had thought he had gotten away with it since Elena hadn't said anything; until then, of course. He had put it away when his brothers and parents were around. "I just skimmed it," he rationalized, "I didn't actually read it." Of course, he had picked up on the fact that the main character had reminded him of Isabella, but he definitely wasn't going to admit that to her.

Ben shrugged, closing his eyes again. "This is the point I was making, Elena. I just don't know. I don't know what it is about it, I don't know why, but I...do." Whatever it was, liked, fancied, thought about her, cared about her. He did. "And I don't know why I did it. I just did." He really didn't know why he did a lot of things.

"Sure," she agreed, smirking. "Of course, Ben." She was a sneaky little bugger when she wanted to be, he was right about that much. But she tended not to do too much snooping, only when Ben was doing something she found particularly interesting. Was it odd that she found the fact that he was reading fascintaing? Probably. It certainly said something about her brother.

"So, I'm guessing you're not going to tell me who she is..." She trailed off, before sighing. "Well, I imagine I'll find out eventually. Have you been talking to her?" She had a feeling her brother wasn't doing as well as he usually did with women, you know, since this one was sober and all. "Does she know you like her?"

It's not that he would exactly blame his sister for being curious as to why he was reading a book. Over the summer, no less. He hadn't read a book since he had started school, not when he was getting detention or being forced to.

Ben smirked. "I'm guessing that's killing you, though," he replied. Oh, she probably would find out.. He should tell her, but he almost didn't want to. At the same time, though...he almost did. "She doesn't know anything," he replied. "I don't remember what I said to her yesterday when she found me..drunk. I think she's the one that brought me back here.." He rubbed his head, remembering the fall and the hit on the head with a throbbing pain. "The last time I coherently spoke to her, though..I was yelling." He felt a pang of guilt. He still felt really bad about that. "And I think I made her cry," he continued, his words mumbled.

	"You yelled at her?!" she exclaimed, eyes wide. "Ben! Why would you do that?! And you made her cry?! How can you possibly expect to win a girl over if you're making her miserable? What did you do?" 	Ben's eyes popped open wide when Elena exclaimed. He hadn't expected that reaction. "Why do you always assume I did something!" he protested. "I was angry, it wasn't even directed at her, really.. "She lied to you? About what?" Elena demanded. It was obvious she still wasn't pleased with the notion of him making the girl cry, but she appeared at least somewhat willing to hear his side of things. "A bad day isn't an excuse to make someone cry." Their parents had made Elena cry a number of times because they took out their frustrations with life and each other on their children.

	Ben grimaced. She was going to make him tell her, wasn't she? "I knew she was hiding something. I just didn't realize it was who she was I had to find out from someone else." Evan, of all people. Elena's brows shot up. "Wait, what? Who is she?" She must have been someone Ben wasn't expecting to have gotten him so upset, maybe someone he wasn't entirely comfortable with her being. Elena's head was working over time trying to make her way through the long list of people Ben would prefer not to date.

"You felt bad because you care about her, just like you feel bad when you make me upset, and I feel bad when I piss you off. Sometimes." She smiled and gave him another gentle nudge.

	Ben kept quiet and his eyes closed for a few moments after she asked. Should he tell her? Should he tell her and see what her reaction was, or keep it from her and risk her finding out and getting angry? Finally, he opened his mouth. "She's a Weasley." 	That sent up a definite red flag. "Ben..." she said hesitantly, gently tugging on his shoulder to get him to roll back over to look at her. "Who is she?" "Oh." Well, it could have been worse. Isabella Weasley was a sweet little thing, but her sister was, well, a bit of a cunt, if you asked Elena. She had bloody well attacked her in the middle of a quidditch match, and Elena didn't plan on forgiving her any time soon, not that she expected any different from Kaida.

"Well that's... complicated," she said slowly. She looked over at her brother. "I'm sure you... know who her sister is." She cleared her throat, clearly uncomfortable. "And that she hates me.... and you." She scratched the back of her neck. "Uh, Ben. I mean, do you think Kaida will, you know, let her?"

Ben opened his eyes, staring out the side of his bed, hearing her reaction. She wasn't smacking him. Or screaming. She didn't sound mad or upset, though, but he waited it out. Apparently she had figured out who she was.

"Yes," he replied, "that was why I got mad. I hadn't meant to yell at her..I was more..frustrated when I figured out who her sister was." Because he didn't want to upset Elena, and because he hated Kaida. With her last question, though, Ben slowly rolled over, a ridiculous look on his face. "I don't give a flying fuck what her sister thinks. She can go fuck herself, frankly. Who said I was going to date her, anyway?"

Elena quirked a brow at him. "Well, you know, Isabella probably cares a lot about what her sister thinks. Do you really think I would've dated Jacob if I thought you genuinely didn't want me to?" She paused and added. "For a valid reason?"

She ran her fingers through his wet hair, making it look somewhat decent. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to date someone, Ben. It doesn't... I don't know... change who you are or something because you actually give two shits about someone."

"Don't be stupid," she said, yanking s pillow off of the bed next to his to hit him over the head with it. "Your opinion happens to mean a lot to me, thanks." She sighed and stuck the pillow under her arms, hugging it. "And if this girl's got any sense, she likes you because you're handsome and a decent guy when you choose to actually act like it." She smiled slightly. "And from what I gather, it seems you've been quite nice to her until recently. Which you should definitely apologize for, by the way."

"Hey!" he said, moving his hands to cover his head after she smacked him with the pillow. "You would still tell me to bugger off. And what reason does Kaida have to hate me, anyway? You didn't do anything, and I sure as hell didn't do anything." He rolled his eyes. "She can go kiss my arse." He rolled his eyes and sighed dramatically as she went on about him. "What do I have to appologize about?"

Ben just sighed again. It was really all he could do. "Fine." It was true, he only disliked Jacob out of stubborness and principal. He didn't really have anything agains him anymore. He made his sister happy, he stood up for her, and he took care of her. Ben just...had to stop being so bloody proud.

"Alright alright alright!" he finally exclaimed. "I'll say I'm sorry. Happy?"
