Who: Elena, Ben, Greg Sr, Millicent Goyle, Jacob Wood, Marcus Flint, Westly Nott?
Where: Backdated to Avalon and Scorpius' wedding
When: After the ceremony
What: Telling the truth
Rating: R for language most likely

Elena felt sick through the entire ceremony. Her palms were sweating, and she couldn't but feel quite bad for both the boys whose hands she clung to so fiercely. On one side, Jacob Wood whom she had given quite the greeting kiss before sitting beside him, much to the horror of her parents who had been staring at her throughout the nuptials, and on the other, Westly Nott, whom she had promised to sit next to a few weeks ago.

Her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest any moment, and as they all applauded as the happy couple sealed their vows with a kiss, she was quite certain she had forgotten to breathe.

Was she really about to do this? She had already packed her things ahead of time. She had everything in her room. It would be a quick run home and then off to... well, she wasn't entirely sure just where yet, but she knew she woudln't be welcomed back into the house. She knew her life was about to take a sharp, drastic turn, that her support- even if it had only ever been monetary- was about to disappear for good. As the crowd trickled out, Elena could feel the two pairs of eyes upon her, and though she managed to release Westly's hand, her grasp on Jacob's tightened as they moved outside.

"Elena!" It was Millicent's hissing voice that reached her first, and she instantly moved away from all the people, away from the celebration. She didn't want to ruin Scorpius' wedding. It was better to keep the dramatics away from the ceremony. Elena didn't want to turn around. She wanted to keep walking, run even, but as soon as she felt safe they were out of ear shot, she paused in her steps, gave Jacob one last terrified look, and hesitantly turned around to meet the furious gazes of her parents.

"This had better be a joke, Elena," growled her father. His gaze flitted to their joined hands, and Elena swallowed nervously, before timidly shaking her head, her voice unable to escape her lips. "Don't shake your head at me." His grabbed her free arm, jerking her towards him, but her grasp on her boyfriend's hand was strong- perhaps painfully so for Jacob. "Let go, Elena. Don't make a bloody scene."

Ben had no use for this stupid wedding. Sure, he had been friends with Scorpius, but he wasn't dumb enough to think that they were still going to be best mates after he was married. Ben was still in school, and definitely never going in the direction Scorpius was headed. Marriage, ministry, kids...the life of their parents, something Ben wanted nothing to do with.

He was sitting by Elena, next to Westly, during the wedding, slouched in his seat, wearing a suit, wanting badly to rip his tie off and take the jacket and toss it on his father, but he knew better than to do that in the middle of the ceremony. He stayed quiet, dozing off nearly two times, before the end came, and he was alert, watching his parents furious faces carefully.

He knew taht this was going to happen. He didn't want Elena to have to hide her relationship, even if he couldn't stand Wood, he at least knew that he made her happy. But Ben also knew his parents, and knew that kissing the Gryffindor, half blood, illegitimate child of Marcus Flint in front of everyone was not going to go over well with his ignorant, closed minded, pompous parents. He could just hear Greg snickering from a few rows back as his mother and father made their way towards them.

Ben was watching carefully, quietly, from a distance away, before he saw his father grab Elena. Making a quick movement, he put himself in between Jacob and Elena and his parents, looking his father straight in the eye. "Remove your hand from Elena right now or I will embarrass you far worse than you'd ever dream," he hissed through gritted teeth.

"Get out of my way, you idiot." Gregory released Elena's hand only to shove Benjamin out of the way, his wand snapping out and pointing directly at Jacob.

Elena's eyes widened, instantly moving in front of Jacob, though she was so much smaller than him he wasn't exactly hidden. "Don't," she breathed. "It's not his fault." Her eyes flitted nervously to Ben, then back to her parents.

"Flint's illegitimate son?" It was Millicent's annoying voice that came next, her eyes narrowed. Sometimes Elena forgot how horrid-looking she realy was. "Trying to raise your status by shagging a Goyle, are you? Well, not my daughter."

Elena flinched. "He's not illegitimate," she said softly.

"Move, Elena."

Marcus had been shaking hands and accepting congratulations outside once the ceremony was over. His eldest was married, and she was happy. A lot had happened over the course of the year, but he was glad to see when all his faults were revealed it didn't ruin Avalon's future happiness. If anything, it helped to prove to Marcus that Scorpius actually genuinely cared about his daughter, in order to still marry her even with the scandal attached to their family.

He was glad it could come to such a point, where his daughter was willing to invite Jacob to the wedding too. Marcus knew it made Katie happy to see him there. But it was at that moment when Marcus wondered where his eldest son was... he had been sitting with the Goyle's daughter, he knew that. And that's where Jacob was now... in the midst of all the Goyles, and it didn't look good.

Marcus whispered to Katie he needed to take care of something, and he left. Avalon wouldn't mind having more attention on her anyway. He saw Goyle's wand out at Jacob and Elena and his anger flared. But he would keep this quiet. The last thing he needed was to make this into a bigger scene at Avalon's wedding.

"Goyle," Marcus said coming up and putting his hand on the other's wand arm and pushing it down. "If you and your wife cannot behave properly at my daughter's wedding, I am going to have to ask you to leave. Especially if you are threatening my son," he said glaring down at Gregory. Marcus had never made a public claim before, but he never denied it either. Jacob was his son no matter what, even if Jacob didn't want Marcus to be his father. But still, Marcus would offer Jacob any amount of support for monetary means, or in occasions like this. Jacob may have been a Wood by name, but he was a Flint by blood.

Jacob was worried that this was going to get completely out of hand. Ben was there trying to defend his sister, but he was soon pushed out of the way and the wand was targeted on him. With Elena trying to protect him.

"It's none of your business, and I care about Elena far more than you would understand," he said. He tightened his grip on Elena's hand. He wanted her to move. Jacob was a Gryffindor, and proud of it, and he didn't wanted to stand up for himself. "Please move," he said whispering to only her.

But then, the unthinkable happened. Flint came over... his 'father' came over to stop them? Probably to keep the peace at his precious daughter's wedding... But he pushed the wand out of the way, and was talking right to Goyle. And... he called him his son. Was he doing it for Jacob's Mum? Or because he actually was looking out for him...

Ben was used to being shoved aside by his father, not that he liked it. He let out a grunt of anger, his eyes dark as he watched his father turn his wand on Jacob. At first, he had thought it was going to point it at Elena, and he moved to jump in, but then it was turned on the other boy. Ben hesitated. He wasn't a fan of Jacob, so he wasn't about to risk his life for the guy. But then Elena got in front.

"What are you, stupid?" he hissed to her, his hand already in his pocket, his long fingers tightening around his wand. As much as one flick of his fathers wrist and Ben was going to send him flying right into one of the flower baskets. He was just willing him to make a move.

And then Marcus Flint was there. Ben looked from Greg, to Milicent, whom both looked mortified and angry at the same time (both resembling a scared boar), to Jacob and Elena, and back to Marcus. He had moved again to stand next to his sister, trying to think of something to do. Some sort of distraction.

"Look, now you're embarrassing us," Ben muttered loudly for his parents to hear, the smirk playing on his lips. Never oen for tact and always one for pissing his parents off, he looked around. "Just what you didn't want us to do, right? Now you're getting told off by the bloody host."

He turned to Elena and Jacob. "Just go," he said, pointing towards the door. "They're not going to do anything." And if they did, he'd stop them.

Elena smiled weakly at her brother. She really wished he would've stayed out of it. He had gotten himself into trouble now, and would probably be getting a lot more of it at home. She felt okay with supporting herself, but Ben had never been the most responsible person in the world. She supposed she could take care of him, though that sounded a bit silly considering he was seventeen years old.

At Ben's words, she smiled sheepishly and took a step in that direction, before a cold voice interrupted.

"Elena Elspeth Goyle, if you leave with that boy, you won't be coming home."

She knew it was coming, of course. She'd packed her things in preparation, but it still hurt, and she froze in her steps, head bowing as she took in a shaky breath, her eyes tearing up despite herself. She was worth so little to them that a boyfriend was enough to cast her aside. She'd always known they weren't the most loving of parents, but there had always been the tiniest bit of hope that maybe... they just weren't good at showing it, and that maybe things would change one day.

She felt some of those tears brim over, but ignored them, not daring to release Jacob's hand to wipe at them. "I know, Mum" she whispered.

Millicent looked briefly taken aback, before sneering at her daughter. "You ungrateful little wretch! You won't last a day. Who do you think is going to take you in? Him?!" She threw her hand in Jacob's direction. "The second he realizes how worthless you are, you'll be back on the sreet!" Elena's jaw clenched as she struggled to maintain some semblance of composure.

"Can we go now?" she whispered weakly to Jacob.

Jacob glared at the Goyles, the things they were saying to Elena, it was unthinkable. He knew it had been a possibility, Elena had told him that, but he still felt bad.

"You don't even know how much she is worth," he said angrily, pulling Elena closer to him. "We can go," he said to her, turning to go, and pulling Elena with him. Between her brother, and Flint, her parents wouldn't do anything to them.

Ben was on a roll by then. He was livid, his face red, but all he knew was that he wanted to protect Elena. As long as she got away with Jacob, he could distract his parents. They weren't going to do anything more with Marcus there, and they could do whatever to Ben, as long as they didn't touch Elena.

He couldn't do what he had promised, though, and disown himself and leave with her. If he did, there was no knowing what they would do, go off and find them and kill them. Not something he was going to let happen, so he had to stay with them, unfortunately. At least it was only a few days until school.

Greg had put his wand away, but he reached out and grabbed Ben, yanking him towards them. "We are leaving," he shouted at Marcus, "come you little idiot." Ben rolled his eyes. "Yep, physical harm towards your children in a public place, definitely less embarrassing than Elena having a boyfriend." He shot a look at his mother. "Oh yeah, and that dress is less embarrassing, too. How long did it take you to squeeze into that?"

Millicent's eyes flashed, and rage crossed her face. "You disgrace! Just wait until we get home."

Ben laughed, shoving his elbow into his fathers arm to wrench himself away. "Whatever," he muttered, looking over his shoulder as his sister and Jacob left, a quick pang in his heart startling him. He genuinely felt awful, knowing that she must feel so upset. And he just hated his parents even more at that point.

"I appologize for my parents," he said loudly to Marcus Flint, loud enough for everyone else to leave as he made his way towards the door, "but you know how inbreeding can be." He pointed towards them, the smirk still there. "Are you coming, or are you two too fat to walk?"

Greg bounded towards his son, obvious intentions of taking his anger, embarrassment, and frustrations out on the only son that was left home. Ben grabbed his wand and flicked his wrist, Aparating to their manor, bracing himself for what was going to happen once they got home.

Jacob moved them farther away and stopped and turned Elena away so he wouldn't have to watch her parents. He pulled her into his arms, hugging her and kissing the top of her head. "It will be okay. You can come home with me, okay?" Jacob said promising to her. His father wouldn't mind. He'd liked Elena when she came to visit during the break. And she needed their help now.

He saw Westly coming over to Elena, and Jacob saw Flint looking at him, and he didn't walk back over to Avalon and his Mum yet. "I need to go... thank my Father. And then we can go right away. Will you be okay while I go and do that?" he asked.

Elena felt her resolve crumbling as she heard Ben's comments, no doubt a distraction. He had always been stupid like that, drawing attention away from her by getting himself in trouble. The loud crack of their disappearance signaled that resolve's complete collapse, and her tears were coming much more freely by the time she managed a small nod, hardly managing to make it over to the nearby bench. Her knees felt weak, and she was glad not to have hold herself up as she watched Jacob move to his father, his father who, even though Jacob resented him most of the time, cared for him enough to step up and protect him. Two loving fathers, and Elena... had none.

She could feel her shoulders starting to shake as she struggled to keep breathing through her sobs, and her hands latched on to the bench for some form of support as she saw a familiar form heading toward her. She hadn't wanted anyone to see, but she supposed it was inevitable, and soon everyone would know. Everyone would know Elena Goyle had been kicked out, abandoned, no longer wanted. "W-Westly, th-they-"

Westly watched Jacob go over to Marcus Flint, and he hurried over quickly to the bench where Elena was sitting. "Shh, it's okay you don't have say it," he said sitting down and hugging her quickly. He pet her hair a bit softly. It was just awful, Westly hated Elena's parents. Hated his own parents because they did the same thing to his sister... would do the same thing to him. "I'm sorry Elena that you had to go had to go through that," he said.

Elena's hands released their strangle hold on the bench as Elena wrapped her arms about Westly's neck, her choking sobs shifting into his chest. "They told me I was worthless," she whimpered. "And they tried to hex Jacob, and Ben's in so much trouble. I messed everything up." She wondered what the Notts would say when they found out. Was word already spreading? Would they come and usher him away and tell her he was not to associate with her?

"They hate me. M-my parents fucking hate me!" she exclaimed. She was having difficulty breathing, descending quite steadily into a panic attack as realization set in. "I've been disowned!"

"You're not worthless Elena," Westly said shaking his head. He could get why they tried to hex Jacob though. And Ben was always getting himself in trouble. Westly could already seen people were staring at them strangely, and Wes had already caught a disapproving look from Adam... He'd have to talk to him later.

"I'm sorry Elena," he said in a whispered voice trying to calm her down but she was already starting to panic. "They're pigs, and they don't deserve you. And really what kind of judgment do they have?" Wes said. After what her eldest brother did to his sister... and he wasn't disowned. Pathetic.
