What: Mandy is owling something, and hanging out with Carmen

Mandy was carrying her package for her Dad. It had vampire pops, every flavour beans, and some of the tricks and pranks from Zonko's in it. Really Mandy could have gotten her father anything for his birthday, but he specifically preferred this kind of stuff. Which sort of made sense, since he couldn't get it on his own. Mandy was also sure, he was being conscious of her pocket money.

So while going to owl his gift, she was going to meet up with Carmen who had said she was bored. She was definitely up to hanging out with her, especially after having Avalon for company the day before... not that she didn't like hanging out with Ashley, but Avalon was a bit much to take on her nerves.

So Mandy was up wandering around outside the entrance of Gryffindor Tower waiting for Carmen. This was the problem with some of her best friends being in different houses... you had to wait around for them a lot. But Mandy didn't mind, or complain, and she just hummed to herself while waiting.

Carmen threw her ipod in her truck, she was listening to Rooney when she was talking to Mandy, and decided that she shouldn't take it. Some of the owls tended to be mean, and they could steal it from her. She would cry if that ever happened, it was her life, a sad little life, but that's what it was.

She stepped out of her dorm and made her way through the common room. It was more crowded than usual, and she had to push a few people out of her way. Usually fifth years, taking up space. She silenting laughed at herself, and stepped through the portrait hole.

Mandy was already there, waiting for her. "Mandy! Aww, I hope you weren't standing there long." She smiled, Carmen hated making people wait for her. "What did you get dear old dad?" she giggled, "How old is he now?" She asked, as they started walking together.

Mandy looked up and grinned. "Of course not! I've only been here for a few minutes at most," she said leaning away from the wall and walked alongside Carmen.

"I got him some things from Honeyduke and Zonko's. He hates that he can't come see Hogsmeade, though I tell him that Diagon Alley has more shops, so he's really getting the better end of the deal," she said giggling. She thought about it for a moment.

"He's 58 I think," she said figuring it out. "I was kind of a surprise you see. I was born ten years after my brother. We get along brilliantly though, the age doesn't matter," she said smiling.

"Good! I would've hated myself for keeping you waiting!" She smiled at her friend, and continued walking. "Ohh he will surely love that! Any dad would. I know mine does." She giggled. "Oh I agree, I'd love to go to Diagon Alley as much as we go to Hogsmeade." Carmen agreed with Mandy.

"58?! Man, isn't he getting old!" Carmen laughed, "Just kidding, 58 isn't that old, he's still young." Carmen thought about how old her parents would be, but it was too much brain power for her at the moment. "Age usually doesn't matter...I think the close in age you are, the more annoying your siblings can get. But that's different with me and Jamie. He's a good boy." She giggled once more. They reached the grounds and Carmen could see the owlry ahead.

"Oh I wouldn't have stood for that! I'm fine to wait a few minutes," Mandy said as they walked on. "He'd love anything I got him, but I do think he will enjoy it," she said nodding.

Mandy laughed and looked to Carmen. "It's not so bad. And the close in age is kind of true. My step-sister and I are only three years apart... and if you remember she doesn't really like me that much I'm afraid," she said getting to the steps of the owlry.
