What: Tyler asks her a question...the right way this time
When: After his Private journal to her

Tyler had made the decision. He had been thinking over whether or not he was ready for the commitment and it was finally done. The owl had been sent and she had replied. Reading her words, he realized how rash he had been. He got carried away in the emotions and had not thought about the correct procedure.

He climbed the stairs to the tower. His palms were sweaty and he could never remember feeling this nervous. What if she said no? Would it hurt? He should have talked to Rosalie. Being his big sister, she could help him figure all of this out. He stood on the balcony, outlooking the campus. He looked down at his wrist watch to see that he was five minutes early. The last time he was early for something...well he couldn't remember.

Tyler climbed over the railing to sit, his legs hanging over the edge. Quietly he whispered the words in which he had rehearsed over and over. It was Mika...the only girl he could never figure out. So he had no idea how this would turn out. All he knew was that he was happiest when with her and that he couldn't remember ever wanting anything more than to hold her.

Great. Labels. He wanted labels? Mika didn't really know how she felt about it, hell she even went and talked to her brother, which she rarely did. She just needed to talk to someone, and although she told her brother he wasn't helpful, he was. He made her feel a little bit better about what she should do.

So as she headed towards the astronomy tower after getting back to school she sighed a number of times. When she finally made her way up the stairs, a couple minutes late. It wasn't like she was overly late, but she couldn't help it. She wasn't sure what she was getting herself into.

When she saw him standing there, a hand ran through her blond hair. "Hey." She said not getting too close.

With the sound of her voice, his head turned around to glance at her. Unintentionally his eyes lit up. A smile spread across his face as he greeted her with a much more enthusiastic "Hey." He swung his legs back over the banister and jumped down so that his feet now met the floor. He observed her, noticing her trouble expression.

After a short moment of silence he finally spoke. "Sorry about the journal thing. This...this whole thing is kinda new to me," he stated, his voice getting softer with every word. He turned back around and looked up to the sky. The days were getting longer and longer they seemed, sounting down to the Summer Break. "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately...a lot...and after a long time...I finally know what I want," He stated, his voice stronger and his eyes fixed on her.

Mika started to get really nervous. She didn't really know if this was a good idea, she didn't know if any of it was a good idea. She liked Tyler, a lot... But she wasn't sure she was ready for a boyfriend, would it go over well? Would she just want to run away after a few days? Mika didn't know. Which was part of the reason she wasn't sure she was ready for something like that.

"Tyler..." She said after he stopped speaking. "I know this is all new, and I know what you are going to ask me. And it's okay, the journal thing and all." Mika paused giving him a half smile. "I'm not sure I'm ready. I really fancy you, and you're a lot of fun, but commitment? I don't want to jump into it and than run away because I don't like feeling tied down. What is so wrong with the way things are?" She asked running a hand through hair.

"So I guess the answer is no. I wont be your girlfriend.." She paused again. "At least not yet."

Tyler knew what she was going to say before she said it. He could tell by the look on her face. What was he thinking? He knew he was over his head. He knew it. But he let his heart get in the way. The same heart that dropped low in his chest. His stomach seemed to ache. It put a whole other meaning to heart ache. This reaction took him by suprise. He had never felt it before.

He was silent for a while. Tyler just stood, starring at the grounds below him. He couldn't bring himself to look at her. Intaking a deep breath, he finally spoke. "It's ok...I understand." His voice was not as strong as he would have liked it to be. He painted on a smile and walked over to her, taking her hand. "What ever you think is best...but I had the same questions about a week ago...and I just took a leap...saying that I would trust myself because I knew I'd do the right thing at heart." He said and then paused, walking back to the balcony.

"What we have now...I like it. I don't want to ruin it...so...if it's best to just forget about all of this...then let's just forget the past ten minutes, okay?" He asked, really wanting to get out of that room.

Mika watched his expression.... Yeah, this really wasn't going over well at all. Was it really that insane that she just wasn't ready yet? He'd seemed more eager about it all than she had from the start right? Or maybe she was just making it up and didn't want to admit she wanted to get closer to him. Why would she want to get close? It never seemed to be a good idea to her, besides Mika didn't want to become his girlfriend and have summer come, and what ever lasted over summer? As far as she could tell that was a big fat nothing.

"I'm really sorry." She said softly. Mika felt terrible, she didn't want to upset him, but he had put her in a place where she felt like she had no other option but to tell him no. She wasn't going to rush into something before she was ready, and she didn't think it'd be fair to either of them if she wasn't totally for it and went through with it anyways. Mika took a few steps towards him after he moved away. She could tell all he wanted to do was leave that room, and she couldn't blame him. It wasn't exactly easy to hear no probably.

Mika took his hand and kissed him very softly. "Okay." She said softly. "How about we leave it for tonight and tomorrow is a new day." She said kissing him one more time before stepping aside. "I'm going to go with we both need some alone time right now, it's kind of awkward right now, huh?"
