It was not often that Adam Pucey ever expreince uncertainty; in fact, it was the farthest thing from his character one could come up with. At this single instance however, as he quickly made his way to the Greath Hall from his dormitories, that such stood as his dominant emotion. There were too many things that could go wrong with what he was about to do, but the fact remained that it was something he needed to accomplish. For Alice, and for those affected by their joining. Most of all, it was perhaps for him and his Westly. He had been postponing it for too long, and since the break was too near, he found that thise was something he could no longer ignore. His week with Westly needed to go smoothly, and if he was still in a relationship with his pretend girlfriend, he doubted Wes would ever forgive him.

Entering the Hall, Adam's eyes quickly scanned the open crowded area for Alice. Immediately spotting her light head- something that came so naturally for him these days after the time he'd spent with her- he approached her, taking the empty seat beside her, one that seemed reserved for him. A kiss to her cheek seemed almost mechanical, an action dictated by habit than anything else, one that was almost void of any emotion for him. His eyes spoke to her. Are you ready? they asked.

Alice had been waiting for this day entirely too long. She had thought perhaps it would be a week before whatever they were doing was over. She had been so very wrong. Of course, she hadn't been happy about it. Most of her smiles lately had been either strained or fake, but people didn't seem to notice. A smile was a smile when it came from Alice. Perhaps she and her closest friends were the only ones who knew the difference. They were worried about her, but there was nothing she could do about it. She'd made a promise she intended to keep, and if she's screwed herself over, she figured that she might as well just carry it out.

The seat beside her seemed to be open to him lately. No one wanted to force out her 'boyfriend' Especially since he was the first one she had gotten (publicly), in a long time. She had been caught up in conversation, so she didn't notice when Adam came in, but she felt the kiss on her cheek and she wanted to recoil, but she remained neutral, giving him a small, measured smile. She read the message in his eyes, her own replying with a firm I've never been more ready in my life. She turned to him a little more, "So what's up, Adam?"
