WHO: Adam Pucey, Westly Nott and Oliver Wood, Jr.
WHEN: After Curfew.
WHERE: Abandoned Classroom.
WHAT: Getting Caught.
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Closed / Complete

The numbing cold of recent nights has become something one could easily ignore, Adam realized as he left the warmth of his dormitories to once again brave the post-curfew nights of Hogwarts. Clad in his usual inconscpicuous dark garb, he descended a few steps and took familiar turns that led to the dungeons, his steps casual and his shoulders relaxed. He had one hand in his robe pocket, and his other balancing colorfully-wrapped chocolate truffles, something he knew his chocolate-addicted Wes liked indeed. The fact that what he was doing was breaking school rules has ceased to trouble him- in fact the truth didn't even register to him- for all he wanted to do was see Wes, be with him, and talk to him about everything.

Soon, he found their meeting place for the night: an abandoned classroom. Cliche, but given they're in such a controlled environment, it would have to do. He went inside and closed the door behind him, taking one of the old desks and settling himself on it, waiting for his companion to arrive...

At first Westly didn't know if Adam understood what he meant. And he repeated just a couple of words. It was painful to see his reaction, but Westly didn't get it. He said it would only be for a couple of weeks, even if it did pain Westly to think about being apart that long. And it was only a suggestion, a thought, Adam could say no...

The laugh stung as Westly watched all the expressions on Adam's face. What was he thinking? Why wouldn't he say anything else. And he wasn't even looking at him now. It hurt that he wouldn't even look at him. And the coldness in his demeanor, and in his voice when he finally just accepted it and told him to go.

He didn't want to leave. Not without a kiss to last him for their time apart. But Adam looked angry, and Westly didn't want to tempt anything else that would take them longer than 5 minutes. "Fine," he said turning away and walking quietly towards the door. This didn't feel right. It felt like goodbye, and not hinted with promises of seeing the other again soon. Cold shivers of regret ran through Westly, but he was resolved, and they'd clear it up later. They didn't have the time now, and he opened the door and left, heading back to the Slytherin Commons.

The sound of the door closing seemed louder in Adam's ear; he flinched, his eyes closing as he felt the shattering in his chest again. He retreated to the desk and settled on it, immobile, broken by his recent regrets as millions of if only's entered his mind. He only counted a minute before he himself left for his dorms, though he found his legs could only take him as far as his commons. There, he spent his night, until light seeped through the high windows beside him, wondering why suddenly everything seemed so... meaningless.
