It had been a series of things over the last several months that had been left to fester for far too long. Roger and Vikki had been just waiting for world war three to explode in the Morgan Wyndam Pryce household. The fighting and arguing had started with little things at first, like Lilah 's drinking, having Roger over 'too' often and Wes ' working too late, his working too much and him not wanting her to work at the office.
All that and several other things had led to their current arguing match tonight. It was pouring rain and Vikki came home to find the house all lit up, but no sign of her parents. She closed the front door and then went searching for at least one of the house staff, there were at least five full time house staff. It took a few moments of searching the vast first floor, before she found one of the maids in the kitchen. She walked over to the girl. "Um, hi are my parents home? " she asked. Before the girl could answer the sound of glass or maybe crystal shattering broke the deafening silence that had settled over the house when Vikki had first come home.
Next there was what Vikki knew was her parents bedroom door slam, then the. yelling started, and Vikki turned to see the maid vanish from the kitchen. Lilah came down the grand front staircase, one suitcase in hand and a still slightly pissed off and bleeding Wes right behind her. It was clear that he 'd gotten hit in the head from the glass whatever, which Vikki was sure had been thrown at him in a fit of anger by her mother. Vikki just watched them from her spot in the doorway to the hall. She 'd never seen her parents so furious with each other that it would cause one of them to leave.
Lilah turned around and looked back at Wes for a second before walking over to the front door, she didn't open it though. She just stood at the door for what seemed like hours to Vikki, but it was only mere minutes. After another minute Lilah sighed and looked at Wesley. "I 'll be at Roger 's." She turned to leave and opened the front door. The only sound was the pouring rain outside, as Vikki kept quiet just watching them. She didn't dare get in between them after the noise
she had heard earlier. She was dying to find out what the hell had happened. She was pretty sure her grandparents on both sides had been part of the fight, because they usually were.
