Who: Jareth and everyone!
When: Day Four, evening
What: The King 'invites' everyone to his masque...
Where: Jareth's castle
Rating: Anywhere from G to R, I suppose
Status: Complete

It had been raining earlier in the day, but it had cleared up a short time ago. Jareth looked out the window of his massive ballroom, empty for now, and felt a little bit disoriented by the fact that the Labyrinth had just disappeared. Of course, he'd made it happen, but it had been a long time since he'd felt so exposed. But he couldn't very well have people needing to wander through the Labyrinth, could he? And the two who had been running it had been transported to the castle already, and he knew from the screams of rage that they were being dressed at this very moment.

The king smiled and turned away from the window, checking out his ballroom. It was quite spectacular, with a large orchestra pit, many snack tables, and, of course, lots of empty space for dancing. This, he figured, would be a night to remember. He snapped his fingers and peered into the crystal that appeared there, scrying on each and every person he'd brought to the Underground. Some, he knew wouldn't come on their own, and he sent crystals floating out to ensare them. Of course, some might just be strong enough to resist that pull, so he had goblins standing by to bring others in. Whether willing or not, everyone would be attending, he'd seen to that.

Dressed in his finery, with an evil looking mask in the guise of a leering demon, he walked over to his throne. Draping himself casually over it, he waited. People would be arriving anytime, now. He didn't fool himself for a moment that some wouldn't take this chance to attack him, which was why he wasn't precisely there. Anyone who tried to attack him, he knew, would find their useless effort wasted against what was no more than a projected image.

He gestured, and a goblin slave brought him a glass of wine. This, he was convinced, was going to be a night to remember.

Pandora was sitting alone in the back of a coffee shop. She occupied a booth all to herself and had a book propped open. She was reading, her strange eyes hidden behind her sunglasses. Every once in a while one of the employees would come by to see if she needed a refill, but she never did. The coffee had gone cold hours ago. She never drank. She ordered and paid for the coffee, but it always went cold. And then she threw it in the bin on her way out the door.

She was just waving away another offer of a refill when she felt a strange pull in her chest. She looked up, finding the sensation particularly odd. She'd never felt anything like it, not since becoming a vampire anyway. If she had to describe it, she would have said it was like an anxiety attack. Her chest felt tight and if she had to breathe, she might have found it difficult. She put her hand to her chest and closed her eyes.

When she opened them a few seconds later, she found herself standing in the middle of a ballroom. Glancing down, she found herself clad in a brilliant black dress. She smoothed her hands down it and then looked up around her. She was no longer wearing her sunglasses. They had been replaced by a mask. She took it off and looked at it. It was ghoulish and she liked it immediately.

She wasn't sure how this had happened, but she had gone from a boring coffee house to a masquerade party. She certainly wasn't going to complain. She looked around and found herself standing in front of a slim man who appeared to be looking for someone. She gave him a predatory smile and approached him. "Good evening. Looking for me?" Her seduction was hard to resist, and she turned it on full force. Her finger reached out to move down his front.

The Doctor started as a woman materialized right in front of him, but forced himself to take it in stride. After all, odd, unmappable planet aside, things like that happened to him all the time. She was beautiful, and so uncomfortably pale that even the Time Lord noticed that she couldn't possibly be human. And she was heading straight for him.

For the smallest point of a second, the Doctor forgot everything that he'd been doing that day, and got lost in those odd eyes of hers. Then he blinked, and recovered himself. After all, he wasn't nearly as susceptible as a human would have been.

"Not specifically, no," he admitted, giving her a friendly smile nonetheless, and taking her hand from his chest to give it a small squeeze. "I'm the Doctor. And who might you be?"

Pandora had been watching his face and she saw him shake off her power. No one had ever done that before. It immediately set her on guard, despite his friendly demeanor. Her brow wrinkled in her confusion and consternation. She mirrored his smile, although it was not exactly genuine.

She took her hand back and turned the charm on even more. "Call me Pandora. What sort of Doctor are you?" She settled her mask back over her eyes. "And can you tell me where I am currently?" She turned to survey the crowded ballroom. She recognized no one, but that was understandable considering most people were wearing masks.

She looked back at the Doctor and then began to laugh softly. "You're the Doctor. The tenth one, if I understand correctly. At least, you play him on the television." Perhaps she'd been dumped somehow into the middle of a celebrity party. She glanced around again to see if she could recognize anyone else. No one immediately jumped out at her so she turned back to the Doctor.

"The City," the Doctor answered with a slight shrug. "That's all I have been able to figure out, though I'm hoping that tonight will shed a bit more light on things," he admitted. "You've been brought here by a being called Jareth," he told her, gesturing to the glittering king on his throne. "For his entertainment, apparently. It's certainly not for ours. You'll be presented with a key to your room, and a journal, at some point."

The Doctor blinked. What in the bloody hell was this woman on about? "I beg your pardon, miss, but I'm not an actor. I am the Doctor," he said with a squaring of his shoulders. "I don't know what you're talking about, last time I checked, no one had enough information on me to create a television show." That was something he was going to have to check up on whenever he got out of this place. He was under the radar, not over the airwaves.

Pandora looked toward the King that the Doctor had gestured to and raised a brow. He was sparkly. And rather more intriguing than the man she was currently talking to. She was barely listening to the man anymore and she nodded absently when he spoke of a key and a journal that she would be presented with. "Fabulous." She murmured and then turned back to the small, pointy faced man.

"Of course you are." She nodded to him and let him believe that no one had enough information on him to do anything with, but she'd seen the show herself. However, she wasn't going to stand here arguing the point when there were much more interesting things to be doing. She gave him a smile. "You have a pleasant evening, then, Doctor. By your leave." She turned and walked into the crowd, enjoying the swish of her skirts against her legs as she approached the raised dais the King sat upon in his throne.
