Who: Jareth and everyone!
When: Day Four, evening
What: The King 'invites' everyone to his masque...
Where: Jareth's castle
Rating: Anywhere from G to R, I suppose
Status: Complete

It had been raining earlier in the day, but it had cleared up a short time ago. Jareth looked out the window of his massive ballroom, empty for now, and felt a little bit disoriented by the fact that the Labyrinth had just disappeared. Of course, he'd made it happen, but it had been a long time since he'd felt so exposed. But he couldn't very well have people needing to wander through the Labyrinth, could he? And the two who had been running it had been transported to the castle already, and he knew from the screams of rage that they were being dressed at this very moment.

The king smiled and turned away from the window, checking out his ballroom. It was quite spectacular, with a large orchestra pit, many snack tables, and, of course, lots of empty space for dancing. This, he figured, would be a night to remember. He snapped his fingers and peered into the crystal that appeared there, scrying on each and every person he'd brought to the Underground. Some, he knew wouldn't come on their own, and he sent crystals floating out to ensare them. Of course, some might just be strong enough to resist that pull, so he had goblins standing by to bring others in. Whether willing or not, everyone would be attending, he'd seen to that.

Dressed in his finery, with an evil looking mask in the guise of a leering demon, he walked over to his throne. Draping himself casually over it, he waited. People would be arriving anytime, now. He didn't fool himself for a moment that some wouldn't take this chance to attack him, which was why he wasn't precisely there. Anyone who tried to attack him, he knew, would find their useless effort wasted against what was no more than a projected image.

He gestured, and a goblin slave brought him a glass of wine. This, he was convinced, was going to be a night to remember.

The dark-haired girl grinned, amused by the way Mercy said the words she usually said. "Yeah, for real. Carrie ain't my bag, though, so no worries. I go psycho in a much more interesting way..." She laughed, even as she was swept around the dance floor, struggling to free herself from the grasp of the spell. It was pointless, but she wasn't really one to give up. It irritated her to not be able to control her own movements.

But the dance kept sweeping them along, and Faith was pretty sure she'd never done a dance like this in her entire life, nor had she wanted to. Well... at least not for a long time, since she was still a little girl, dreaming in the way all little girls do. But this, wasn't something she would have wanted, even when she was a child. Long story short, she wasn't digging it.

Only, part of her was, just as part of her liked the pretty pink dress she wore. Her head against Mercy's shoulders, her lips against the other woman's neck, felt strangely nice to her. She couldn't understand it. Mercy was a girl. But she did manage to yank her head up to eye the monster that appeared, her body twitching as she tried to take control of it to go fight. It was, after all, sort of her job description.

Maybe the adreneline did it's job, because she slowly found herself able to make her body her own again. She twitched out of Mercy's arms, started running towards the thing, and... it disappeared. However, now that she was free, some of her actions were haunting her. Or, rather, her reaction to some of her responses.

"Hey, I'll catch you later, okay?" She refused to meet the other girls eyes, not wanting to see judgement there, not wanting to think about what all this meant. "Gotta jet, you know how it is, ciao!" And she was off, into the crowd once more, running once more. Always running...

A strange warm pleasant feeling washed over her as their pace slowed down again and they steeled into a different sort of dace which was far more intimate and a lot more of their own time. She was realized that the danger was gone and the woman in her arms was safe, she knew Faith could hold her own but it was still good to know.

Mercy grinned and laughed at Faith actually enjoying the moment between them, for some reason she was urged to place a small kiss upon the cheek that was nuzzled into her neck, so that's exactly what she did, soft full lips against her warm cheek.

What the hell? Why do I care so much about this woman? She is a woman. She questioned, playing with the strange thoughts in her mind, she never quite caught on to the idea that possibly her Coyote was the part of her who had been protective over Faith and wanted to mate with her, no that was far from her mind.

Before she could blink Faith was taking off, leaving her there in a crowd of unknown faces. She could move her own body now but for the life of her she couldn't budge from the spot she was in, instead she just felt her heart sink and smash against the floor. "Faith.." She whispered into the air.

Mercy closed her eyes took a breath then went off for a drink, it was something she really needed right now even if normally she didn't. Hopefully all would be forgotten about once they returned to the Labyrinth and they could get back to the hunt.
